Not sure I would call Duclair underrated. His upside has never really been in question, it's his consistency - and there are still major questions about that. That said, he was a welcome surprise for the team last year, and has certainly earned a chance to really prove himself in Ottawa.
One player that I think most people aren't as familiar with is Christian Wolanin - who took a couple of years to really break out in the NCAA, but did so in full force as the best player on the championship University of North Dakota team in 2017/18. He then put up 31pts in his first 40GP in the AHL, and 15pts in his first 40GP in the NHL. Unfortunately, he had injury issues last year, but I think you can expect to hear a lot more from Wolanin in the next year or two. |

Bruce Garrioch is underrated, how many people can drink a 24 before a game and perform at 25% capacity |

Most underrated?
Connor brown — this guy logged so much ice time on Ottawa last year. He is a gamer and plays the game the right way. He had so many chances to score more but sadly doesn’t have the high end talent some people are born with. If he did, he’d be a 60 point guy every year easy and likely scoring 30-35 goals. Like mike fisher, I can see him getting his respect years after he’s noticed by people In the market he plays
Honourable mention - Demelo, Boro |

Nick Paul sucks Todd. - AdamFrench
Well, when a large percentage of the bloggers here seem to just rely on stats for their understanding of the game, this is what you get.
Really makes it worth read those that are fans of the game, watch regularly and understand what the stats are trying to convey. |

It is 100% that Nick Paul is the most underrated player on the Senators roster. Most games that I go to he is the best player on the ice. You hardly ever notice White or Logan Brown. Connor Brown is also under appreciated.
I would definitely protect Nick Paul and Connor Brown in the Seattle expansion draft. |

I think the most underrated Sens player is Wolanin…...he was hurt most of the season, but IMO he's a legit 2nd pairing guy who seriously flys under the radar, even in Ottawa |

I don’t think Wolanin Is underrated because he has so much obvious talent. He got hurt in training camp and was out for a lot longer time than expected. He lost the entire shortened season in the NHL. I can see him being paired with Chabot if he stays healthy. It will be interesting to see who the Sens pick at number 5. I would expect them to take a forward but if they think Wolanin isn’t ready then they will probably pick Sanderson who would be hard to pass on. |

Sanderson at 5 would be REALLY easy to pass on...…..unless I had an insanely high need for D, and Drysdale was already gone, I wouldn't look at Sanderson until around pick 9 or 10 |

Commas, or you create innuendo and controversy. Unless, of course, the omission was intentional. If so, I hope Todd and Nick are happy. |

Two of Bob McKenzie’s 10 scouts picked Sanderson as the third best player available in the draft. None of the scouts that I know of had Drysdale ranked that high. Granted Bob had Drysdale ahead of Sanderson on his final list. Sanderson is the the fastest riser in the draft and has caught the eye of a lot of scouts and hockey analysts. They are talking about how high he will go, not much on Drysdale. I see him going between 4 and 6. |

yeah, and 8 of them had him at 10 or higher.....hence the reason he settled in at around 9 on the final rankings.
the only way Sanderson goes between 4 and 6 is if Drysdale is already gone, and a team desperately needs D so they don't go BPA. Sanderson, in terms of talent and potential, is not a top 5-6 player in this draft. |
