Imagine thinking Nylander is overpaid and using Kevin (frank)ing Hayes who has less goals and pts and makes more money as proof.
You can't imagine how truly dumb some people can be until you witness it first hand.

Per my comment on the previous blog, Kevin Hayes is a third line centre on a good team. He can skate, but he has lead hands. Comparable player on the Leafs is Hyman. If they were making the same money, I wouldn't trade Hyman for Kevin Hayes. The extra kick in the ass for the Flyers is, Hayes has a NTC so they can't lose him to Seattle even if they wanted to. Looks like JVR is going to Seattle. |

Why would Seattle do that? |

Lol. Thanks for the analysis on Hayes and his comp-Hyman. Never really noticed him when he played the Leafs. In your opinion. Is he better or same level as JVR? |

Two reasons. They have to get to the floor and the two likely players available from the flyers will be Gostisbehere and JVR. I would think JVR is the better of the two. |

Really have no idea who will be available from each team, but I'd think if gostisbhere is avaialable they take him a millions times over jvr.
I think it'll depend on who is available at each position though. |

Not sure. JVR would probably get a good opportunity to score 30 goals on an expansion team. Gostisbehere is ok I guess, is he worth $4.5 Million a year? Athletic suggested that Seattle would take JVR, I'll agree with that.

He was in the last one talking about how Giroux is infinitely better than Tavares.
A Buffalo fan put it best in the thread-
Phily Fans:
Claude Giroux.
Its close but giroux.
Giroux hands done.
Everyone else:
What a stupid question, obviously Tavares.

I'd take JVR over Ghost if I were Seattle. Unless Ghost has a good season next season, 'cause he's been bad for a bit now.
Take JVR so you can reach the CAP floor and then trade JVR and retain money on him. I think he'd be a good complimentary player on a good team and I think if they retain money, they'd get a good return in the form of picks and prospects that won't make the NHL for a while, 'cause I don't think teams are gonna do what they did with Vegas. I think Seattle is gonna scrape bottom of the league for a bit. |

Miami and Houston as hub cities.
The team with the fewest players on ventilators at the end of the play-in round gets the first overall pick.

Giroux is very good, but he is 32 years old and has scored over 30 goals once in his career. JT has done it many times and I would think his chances of scoring 40 or even 50 are significantly higher than Giroux's chances. JT is a better player in my opinion. At the same time Giroux only makes $8.275 Million. But what do the Flyers do in two years when that deal is up and he's 34+ years old?
