yeah, i guess it is kinda the same idea up there as here. we grow up making pilgrim and indian hats out of construction paper in school though. like every year until like 4th grade. i wonder if pilgrims and indians would sit at the same table to eat today..
also not into christmas for the religious reasons. it's just the nicest month of the year and it was always a big deal to us (who didn't want to come see the little twins on christmas eve?!). people hold doors for each other and are more courteous in traffic, etc. everyone just seems to be in a good mood for that one month. - kicksave856
yeah if it wasn't for Christmas I would despise winter 100%. So now I only despise it at 93%... I hope we'll be able to have the family gathering at my grandma's as usual this year...

well you know, i love the winter and hate the summer, so that part is reverse for me. but it hasn't really been cold here on christmas for a couple years. has it been cold up there for the last few years? it doesn't even want to snow here anymore. this region got less than 1 inch of snow this past winter. that's absurd. when i was growing up we had yearly blizzards, some with hip-high accumulation.
we do also have a big thanksgiving day at my aunt's house (we like to party) and we were just wondering the same thing about if we'll even be able to do it this year. what a time to be alive.

Canada not being cold during winter would be a sign of an upcoming apocalypse, imo. We've had a few very rare christmases without snow here, but January and February would make sure you don't forget it's winter...

i want at least a coating of snow when people have their houses decorated with lights because it makes it look awesome.
we're the type that will drive around and check out peoples' lights and stuff. we even did a tour last year where all these people go all out decorating their historical, old timey homes and then you use these shuttles to follow a map and you go to each house and even walk through it where people have the insides all done up too. that would have all looked so much better with snow (although i guess the inside part would have become hell for the homeowners).

I feel an announcement should be coming up to this weekend...I mean, we're already in July. If they want this thing to happen they need make a move forward.

I agree Christmas without any snow feels a bit weird... And we do have a few houses around here that have so many decorations and lights they become tourist attractions lol...
Is there such a thing in the US as a Noël des campeurs? (a "camper's Christmas"?) a few oddballs celebrate that here on July 25th

it's not an actual thing here, but kickbro has been trying to make christmas in july an official holiday for years.

Like you said in the last thread. NHL wants vegas.
also, there might be a possibility that Buttman and his henchmen knew all along this wouldn't work, but wanted to keep the fans' interest in hockey higher for all this time or something...

speaking of enjoying the spotlight, do you think Kovalchuck will be back at some point? I wouldn't mind it, as long as it doesn't affect the cap, and that he doesn't take away minutes from younger guys who could benefit from the ice time - Pat1993
Well, if we are to believe the powers that be, a gentleman’s agreement is in place for him to come back after MB sent him to Washington to have a shot at the cup...what happens if the playoffs dont go ahead? And if they do and Washington doesnt win, will he be fine settling for babysitting youngsters? I wouldnt bet on it...wish we could just fast forward till we know if this playoffs thing will or wont definitely happen lol

yeah, so many questions and uncertainty, whatever the outcome is I hope they figure it out soon, I'm with you on that one...
