Very nice. Any teams named?
- Michael Pachla

Well it can only be the other 6 right, that aren't in the play-in Rnd.

Do you really see him resigning in two years when the contract is up ?

Even after ignoring the fact that he sucks, he doesn’t want to be here either.

I believe Reinhart is getting traded.
- kingcong39

Yep. I've been speculating about that for months. They can't keep the same players in the top 6 eat up the cap, and hope for much change in record. If they could I'm sure they'd deal Skinner instead. If they negotiated with Reinhart and gave him what he wants 7 mil and 5-6 years they'd have two wingers who would be untradeable after he signed his name.

Wings are one.
- SABRES 89

i'm not of that opinion

Maybe sucks to be Risto too. What a career in the NHL it has been. I think there are q quite few poster children of mediocrity. Basically anyone who has been here more than 3-4 years except Jack. We can have a monthly poster.

If you're getting the crap return you suggested, then he's worth more on the team. That trade idea is ridiculous.

Totally agree.

He's one of the longest tenured during the poop years.

It's long overdue to cut ties.

Oh I hear ya Fitz, no worries. How about Rhino to the Ducks for Steel and Josh Mahura
- Buff36

Idk... it’s not a bad deal, but I’m worried about trading Sam & not getting commodities back that help right away
And also, how that plays with Jack
Normally i wouldn’t care too much about that
But with everything that’s going on, i do think it needs to be somewhat of a consideration

Not that Steel isn’t NHL ready, obviously he’s in the Ducks current lineup
But is he ready to make an impact NEXT season for us?

I’m also wondering how we’d do the lineup?
Steel is better slotted at 3C for now imo
So do we try Cozens at RW in the top6?

In a trade like that...
I wonder if we shouldn’t put Steel on a line that would technically be labeled “line2” and try to shelter him

Get a strong 2way guy to play 3C between Mojo
& Kahun and let them take on some defensive situations in order to shelter the kids on the scoring line?

I don’t think that’s ideal though
And i wonder if they struggle a bit to the point where we still are hurting for consistent secondary scoring?
Bc that’ll kill our playoff chances again,
and Jack will probably lose his sh!t

I found it to be an interesting article

It’s logical that it could be the reality for many teams, especially in the NHL where margins are thin on making $$$ year to year

There’s a lot of teams that i bet have been hit hard by what’s going on

Scale backs is seem inevitable

Why’s that?
Just bc a trade can’t be made now between us & a playoff team doesn’t mean they can’t discuss if we’d consider moving Montour (or whoever) and what we’d be looking to get back

Especially with a new GM like Adams where no team knows what to expect from him
I’d imagine he’s had calls from just about every GM to start to gauge him & see where he’s at with certain players

Don’t think u can say that for sure anymore
-as far as we know, his trade demands haven’t persisted
-he’s said he really likes playing for Ralph

I’ve said this a million times...
but if we start WINNING, that will cure the frustrations that all these guys have been having with losing

Everyone is worried about Jack, and rightfully so, I know Jack is a competitor and wants to win know, but I don't think Jack is stupid either, I am sure Jack doesn't want a 1 and done scenario either. He might have to wait another year, but as long as the right moves are made and the team is moving forward that’s a positive.

I'm not of that opinion either. Whoever gets him is going to have to pay him more than the Sabres did so that lowers his value, he had a down offensive year last year so that might take a hit at his value too. Guhle was considered one of the Sabres top 5 prospects when he was dealt with a 1st round pick, not sure they get that in return.

Yeah, but he’s also seen a number of young guys come & struggle to be what we thought they could be too
So i wonder if bringing in more young talent would just add to the frustration??
Especially if you’re shipping out his linemate to get that young talent

It’s just not the right way for us to be constructing trades now either though

Instead of moving out Montour for a 4th liner and a player who might be making a meaningful contribution years from now...
We should be ADDING to Montour (or Risto, or whoever) to be getting pieces that fill our obvious holes we have

I think we all agree here that it’s playoffs or bust for us, correct?
I’m thinking Jack is at that point too

It’s another reason that a getting a guy like Dudley in here could be huge
It’s a daunting task for any GM walking into this situation... let alone a guy with zero experience

We’re basically asking for Adams to come in and pinch hit a Home Run in his first career at bat in the bottom of the 9th
Yikes

Well that's the bad thing, you just don't know and have to hope it works and goes in the right direction. They could use a little age to, like a Maroon or Smith if they would come here, show them what it takes.
