If it comes down to it...
play Cozens at 2C with whatever wingers seem to suit him best,
and just shelter him as much as possible with offensive situations & best possible matchups

For example:
The Islanders give Barzal 58% offensive zone starts so far in his young 3yr career

- jdfitz77

If Cozens rises to the occasion then fine, but can’t go with that from the get go. No way. They need to get a 2C. I can’t get over how horrific Botterill F’d the Sabres roster over with the ROR trade. How did he not get a Center in return? Monahan would be unbelievable. No way any other GM is a big enough moron to not require a Center in return when their roster is thin of Centers. So Monahan is out. I guess you could give up Cozens and maybe Calgary does it, but do u want the Sabres to do it then? I don’t. They’ll have to settle for someone like Tyler Johnson. Not the worst thing in the world, but not Monahan. Imagine a 3rd line of the young bucks. Cozens, Mitts and Goalofsson. Shades of Vanek, Roy and Max.

Skinner/Eichel/Kahun
MoJo(sucks, but what can u do)/?/Reinhart
Mitts/Cozens/Goalofsson
GLO (Laser can go in for anyone going out, possibly Pekar too)

Should rid themselves of MoJo and Tage. Good with trading Reinhart and Mitts. To get a 2C.

Wonder if Sam, Mitts and MoJo could get you Johnson and Cirelli? What is getting out of Johnson’s remaining term worth to Tampa?

Not everything Botts did was a disaster. He did get Joker. Although Snipeshow98 is about to break out. Oilers/Hawks gonna be the best series of the playins. Nylander’s gonna go off.

And are we forgetting players are more unlikely to sign here as free agents than ever?

Can’t say for sure how we are viewed as an organization right now, but it can’t be good.....

- jdfitz77

I know Fitz, but players have to play to, things I was looking at, half the teams in the league are at 70mill or more in cap already, some UFA are gonna have to play were the money is, aren't gonna be as many choices.

Jesus, Boss, for like the 37th time, I have no problem with Maroon as a 3rd or 4th liner, but I'm not paying him more than $1M. You wanted to sign him for like $3M and put him on Eichel's wing, FFS.

All in good fun.

Well my end anyways 🙉

Someone suggested the 1 year deal with sam.

I'm in at 5.5-5.9. Gets him 1 year closer to ufa with arbitration rights.

I'm just thinking he should/could want out.

Hes gotta love riding with eichel and #1 pp minutes here

- Boss34

The problem is that he can accept his QO after next season (or file for arb) and hit UFA the following year. Have to make a call on him now. We'll learn a lot about KA really fast.

Interesting to see what some of the RFA'S do. Could see a lot of the UFA'S taking 2 yr deals to hopefully get that next big payday.

Neither does hand picking which businesses are allowed to conduct business and which ones can’t.
- TheHank

The problem is okay with both, especially when the later is saving lives. Since most of the mass is too dumb to understand the consequence of their choices. I guess some of us arent as self-entitled as others.

Ok that clears it up

Rfa's are always happy in the cities they play. They love their franchises, because the team has control over them.

Suprised sam wouldnt want out.

"Is it a coincidence that the Hurricanes cannot accept a contract extension with Dudley and Forslund? Or can they simply not afford to pay them what they are worth?"

I don’t think the Sabres are the only team who’s cost cutting now & in the near future

Montour for Bennett and a 2nd? I'd disable your cell phone service before you could finalize that deal.

I think we all agree that we’d like to bring in a 2C
and not put Cozens in that spot right away

But as we’ve also seen,
it hasn’t been as “easy to replace ROR” as many on here thought

Idk if u saw the post i was responding to,
but i was going along with the line of thinking that for whatever reason we couldn’t get that 2C whole we obviously need

As for your line ideas,
that’s roughly what I’d ideally like to see
Skinner/Olofsson-Jack-Sam
Olofsson/Skinner- 2C - RW2
MoJo-Cozens-Kahun
Girgs-Larsson-Okposo
Lazar
Asplund
Tage

True
But I’m guessing we’re fighting for scraps more than we are the guys we’d really like to get

Sorry, I’m not usually negative like this
But it’s just tough to be positive about this particular aspect of things right now
