If the Jets win the first overall pick, they make great trading partners with Buffalo.

To WPG: Jack Eichel, Kyle Okposo

To BUF: Patrik Laine, Adam Lowry, 2020 2nd round pick, 2021 first round pick, 2021 third round pick

- TheUltimateJet

Nope. If a team wins the first overall, and are going to trade for Eichel, you bet your ass the 1st overall is going to be in the deal.

I wonder if he meant to include that, otherwise why mention it?

Fitz the Pegulas really (frank)ed up in that ROR bullpoop. Could of had Domi and Garland to, Botts had a trade lined about 2 1/2 weeks before the bonus was to be paid, but Arizona backed out because they wouldn't budge on paying it, 2 days later Domi was traded to Montreal.

Very frustrating to hear
That ROR deal is EXACTLY where having a “team president” or “director of hockey ops” or whatever u wanna call a guy stationed between the Pegulas & Botts could’ve stepped in & prevented all that from happening

Hopefully this Dudley thing is true
Bc not only do i think we need a guy to bridge that gap,
But a guy with his experience could be a BIG help to Adams

I don’t think much of Talbot

Idk if they’d trade those guys as part of “blowing it up” though?
Sounds like Gaudreau is the guy they’d move
Who i do think would look great with Jack
But with what a sh!t show we have going on here right now, I’d be worried that he’ll just walk after 2yrs when his deal is up
And we aren’t getting him “cheap”

But let’s say Calgary is willing to trade those guys
I gotta think it at least starts with Sam & Cozens
Bc the only thing they have at Center behind Monahan is Backlund, and he’s just an “ok” 2C at this point

- jdfitz77

Calgary has some young C ready to make the leap. Kid playing at the University of Denver Pettersen is the hire apparent to Monahan.

I dont think so, I think he figured he can plug in Lafreniere for Laine.

From the sabres stand point there is no point in moving eichel, so not sure why people think winning the lotto means they can trade smaller pieces for eichel. I see it a lot on Capfriendly too.

Realistically if Eichel wants out, you tell him tough poop, you have 6 years left on the contract, you'll be here at least 4 more years.

I do not think Eichel wants out, I think the media and fans overreact to a player not giving a cookie cutter answer. Its a shame, when we react like this to comments, it sort of forces players to give the same generic response to all questions.

I don’t think that’s close to even consideration

1- take Okposo out of the deal
If we’re trading Eichel, then we’re just starting over basically. So we aren’t gonna take less for Jack by including a Cap dump

2- this deal boils down to Laine + for Eichel
And your +s just aren’t nearly enough for us to even consider it
We already can’t find a 2C to replace O’Reilly,
and no, Copp is not a 2C in any way
And now trading Jack, we’d have to find a 1C as well

The deal looks great for you guys
But it crippled any chance we have to move forward at all
Just can’t see anything close being realistic

Homie said they had like 10 other offers that were better than St.Louis but they were willing to pay the bonus.

He’s a nice prospect,
but tough to imagine they think he can be a 1C right away
Idk that he could even be projected as that a couple years down the road

Has there been rumors they’d move Monahan?
Bc i fell like its just something we’ve talked about here bc he’s be a great fit as 2C behind Jack

I agree, it is sounding more and more if they don't do good in this years playoffs that they could blow it up in Calgary. If that happens what would you be willing to do for say Monahan Lindholm Talbot
- Buff36

Flames fans have soured on Monahan and we should be in on him if he is available. Jack and SM as our 1 & 2 up the middle would be sick! I would trade our 2020 number 1 for him and maybe work Risto into the deal somehow to make the $ work.

Lol
I figured that would be the response he’d get from the rest of u guys
So i thought I’d just give him actual reasoning as to why it makes no sense at all for us
Our LWs would look great though! 😂😂🤣

Gotcha

It’s one of those things that (imo) sounds like it could happen, but when u look at Calgary not having anyone to slot into the 1C spot right now,
that just really lowers the possibility of it actually happening

If they lost their minds for some reason though,
he’d be a great 2C here

I don't agree w trading him either. I've said before, Adams isn't going to cut his own throat, unless Kim specifically tells him to trade him.

It would have to be a situation where the Pegulas are like, “just f#ck it. Trade out as much salary as possible & start over”

And even though they’ve made some bad decisions,
I do think they wanna start winning as much as the rest of us do

Jack has likely made it crystal clear to Kim that if we poope the bed again in 2020-21 he will want out so I expect an active off season to surround him with some NHL ready talent.

He's going to have to make at least one savvy trade, and I can't imagine the word "savvy" being associated with "rookie GM".

But hey, maybe he turns water into wine.

Right...
With linemates who’ve not played in the NHL again since that season

If u think that’s giving someone a legitimate shot at the Center position,
then we’re just gonna have to agree to disagree
Bc i wouldn’t have expected much production from anyone with garbage wingers like Pouliot & and Career AHLer Seth Griffith
Come on man

- jdfitz77

are you gonna make the same excuse for mitts who was in a third-line center role with the likes of sobotka, okposo, tage, elie, e-rod at the beginning of '18-'19?

Ugh
Now that would’ve been a decent trade
I really like Lindholm coming out in his draft year
Curious to see if Calgary will try to move him back to Center or keep him on the wing
I think he could be a top10 2way Center in the league

- jdfitz77

If Flames get bounced early. It starts with JG and possibly SM being shown the door. Lindholm they look at putting him at center.
Hammonic they want to resign, Brodie only if takes less and they dont resign Hammonic.

Agree but will the pegulas be willing to pay him? Bet They loved writing $20m+ in bonus checks on Wednesday. Feel so sorry for them

there's no doubt that people took advantage of their deep pockets and naivete when it comes to owning a big-four north american professional team (or two)...do i pity them?...no, not really
