Have you read or heard that subsequent NHL seasons will also get pushed back to December/January?

I wouldn’t hate it
Sports on tv in the summer months sucks,
I’d welcome watching hockey

Ok... but none of them are gonna go see their parents or grandparents???
That’s why this whole let everybody do what they want reasoning is bananas
The elderly will still get infected by those going out & doing whatever

- jdfitz77

Those people can self quarantine. People are going to get it regardless. Most of the people that got it already were people that weren’t even going out.

In reality, the Cozens - Lindholm line is really the 2nd line, but it will take part of the season or the whole season for that to really happen.

The author's idea was to pair players that have skillsets that mesh well, hence the Kerfoot - Skinner pairing and the Cozens - Lindholm pairing. Plus, Lindholm can play Center and take draws when needed.

I'm not thrilled with it, but it is quite an improvement.

Ultimately, I would rather not rely on 2 rookies as part of the 4 Centers, but the author did not sign Larsson as a UFA because it seems well know Larsson wants to go elsewhere.

Idk about that trade though?
Why wouldn’t Calgary just re-sign Hammonic instead of trading their top line RW for Risto?
And didn’t the Calgary analytics guys already nix a trade for Risto a few years ago?
What changed that they’d want him now?

Trade seems way off base to me

U really think ppl who wanna go out & do whatever they want are gonna self quarantine for 2 weeks before they do see their elder family members?
Highly doubtful imo

Draft Holtz and know your RW is set if you were to pull of that Lindholm trade, and then use every other chip you have to find that 2C.

I think it’s still nuts that we didn’t try Sam back at Center at all during this post ROR mess

They are awfully quiet about all these liberal states regressing and now shutting down their restaraunts today.

Calgary could be in trouble with there Dcore, looks like 3/4 of them are either UFA or RFA's.

Would they like an extended montour, McCabe and/or miller?

Sam ...... was ..... not ..... good ..... at .... center ..... at ..... the ..... nhl.... level

He’s not a fast enough player also. That’s hurts him from being a good nhl center.

On the wing he’s fine

If they can afford Risto at 5.4mil,
then they can afford to re-sign Hammonic

Giordano, Hanifin & Anderson all back for sure
They do need a RH guy
I just question if a guy they’ve previously disliked makes sense for them over re-signing a guy who’s been playing 20+ min a night for them

Plus they’d have to give up Lindholm,
who I’m assuming they like a lot

Just seems like a big reach to me

Montour might make more sense?

He’s not really slower than O’Reilly or Tavares
Both of whom obviously excel

Last time Sam played Center was for like 12games 3 seasons ago
His wingers were Pouliot & Seth Griffith...
neither of whom has played in the NHL since

He hasn’t actually been given a chance to play center with decent linemates really ever

You act like we’ve found out he’s “not a Center”
But we really haven’t

Well that's not true, and someone on here posted numbers that say given a chance he can produce.

I don't know what will happen with that rumored Calgary trade. I do like the one 39 posted, probably never happen but I would be willing to even add to what 39 said if it brings back Monahan and Lindholm, next years 1st and even Borgen or Mitts if that's what it took.

Sweden has taken a different path compared to most European countries by keeping much of society open and by recommending social distancing and self-isolation rather than imposing a blanket lockdown. That strategy has resulted in a much higher death rate than in neighboring countries, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

The analytics say you’re wrong, but why let the facts get in the way of a good story.

The only reason Sam was moved to wing because the Sabres has #2 centers in Oriley and Eichel, and they needed to push Sam into their top6 because he was one of their more skilled players.

Cool. If he was such a good 2C. He would’ve been playing 2C a long time ago.

Analytics and eye go together. Like pilut. Analytics were good on him too. And the nhl level he wasn’t great.

So analytics fail ...... Sam is not a center. Sorry to break it to you.

He doesn't have to play Center to impact the 2nd line. They should have still given it a try at C with Skinner, but even putting him at 2RW could have helped.

Based on what? Sam was the top center in all of juniors and in the world junior tournament.

But because he’s not better than Jack Eichel and Ryan Oriley he cant play center in your book? That’s ridiculous. He’s literally a better center than anyone on the current roster not named Jack Eichel.

And you’re “if he could play center he would be there”? Have you not been paying attention to the inexperience and incompetence of this organization over Reinharts tenure as a Sabre?

I’ll do you one better... if Sam had played #2 center this year, The Sabres would be in the playoffs right now. Skinner would have had a couple more goals and the team would have won a couple more games.

Sam is winger. Dahlin is a defenceman. Don’t ever try to change them cause that’s just the way it is.
