Arizona has activated a guidance plan for hospitals facing difficult decisions about how to ration dwindling resources as the number of COVID-19 patients climbs.
Jesus, they're going to "make a difficult decision" about Matthews. - Canada Cup
I hope they won't use the same protocol as in Sweden (basically euthanasia if patient over 70y old). But hey - Sweden is such a 'social country'...

I just said that having players very rested might not be a plus for the playoffs, but a minus..
Of course they are now more rested than normally when starting the playoffs. - MaximusAurelius
Or maybe you could recognize that the worst global health crisis in 100 years has altered absolutely everything, so of course the playoffs this year will be different, and you should stop whining.

You just know he's gonna be in here on the first play in game whining and complaining about integrity of the game and how none of this should count.
I can't wait for playoffs in the summer. It's going to be awesome.

The fact that you are typing this from Spain is sad and hilarious.
The funny thing is, if they opened up the games to spectators (yeah, not going to happen) I would probably still prefer watching the games outdoors. - Atomic Wedgie
I tested out a projector outside the other day.
Couldn't see poop until like 9:15, so that won't work. But I will probably get the TV out on the deck to watch.
Never had playoffs of any type in July/August. It's going to be great.

comparing apples and pears.
Spain has done a very decent job in trying to give most elderly a fair chance of decent treatment.
where it went wrong are the private elderly care homes.
in addition - spain has a very different economic reality compared with sweden.
in spain there were no medical policies of pre-emptively euthanizing all 70+year olds which were diagnosed with covid19.

TB, HIV/Aids and Malaria are obviously way bigger global health issues than covid19.
the issue is that most of people getting ill and dying from those diseases are poor - and therefore to you not as important - or it might just be that you are just not aware of the extent of these global health emergencies (TB has been a 'global health emergency' for over 20 years - but not a real priority for Europe/US/Canada since most of the impact in Africa/Asia/Latam.
Covid-19 measures and restrictions have had very big societal and economic impact - but from a pure global health crisis perspective, is a small issue compared to these three diseases.

Any news on Matthews since it was report he had covid back on the 19th. - dmnted
He tweeted out something about how Phil mickelson was playing great golf last week.
I’m gonna go ahead and say he probably isn’t experiencing a lot of symptoms.
For the most part a lot of young athletes that I’ve read about with no underlying conditions haven’t had any symptoms and were almost shocked they had it.

You got to be in pretty bad shape to be watching golf
Given that it’s July 1st, I think it’s important to take the time today to recognize and be thankful for the history and importance behind this truly great occasion; a day we should circle on our calendar every year, and reminisce about what led us to it.
