Kruger got Botril, his boss... Fired. Skinner was Botril's saving grace as a GM (Olafsson was a Tim Murray pick). A 40g scorer with Eichel, and Kruger wouldn't play the two togeather. Even after the ship had sunk. And with this crazy playoff format to boot.

The Sabres missed the postseason by maybe a goal or two when all was said and done. And you wanna give the noob coach who iced a 30-40g scorer more say?!!

Where's the logic?

- SuperCat

The logic follows Einstein's logic of insanity: doing the same thing over again and expecting different results which apparently you don't mind following. Ralph obviously didn't want to play the same lines again as they did the year before which led to crap and have one line that could score. He tried to spread the wealth. Guess what? Jack flourished without Skinner on his hip, Skinner was making 10 mil so time to make another line stronger and then the team, hopefully, but he had one of his down years that he has a history of having.

a senior advisor is also a possibility...and you're right it would be a shame

There are quite a few of us that have been on the Duds bandwagon for a long time.

I just hope that if it happens, it’s not like many of the acquisitions Buffalo has done too late.

Everybody could have been warned, it wouldn't have mattered in NYC, once 1 person in the Burrow got it 15,000 had it. They could have stopped travel in November and I bet it would have still rocked NYC.

I get your point...
but his own medical expert (Dr Fauci) said that the inaction cost lives

No, it wouldn’t have been zero
But then i wasn’t saying that...

I'd love to see a list of all the stupid things he's said and done since becoming president. How anybody can still back him is beyond me.

I have many friends who are Republicans
The ones i respect, are the ones that still hold their political beliefs while also recognizing he’s an utter piece of sh!t
No, they aren’t voting for Biden
But they aren’t voting for dipsh!t either
And they also don’t support of defend in any way all the ridiculous bullsh!t from this piece of garbage

Babcock is 8th in All Time Wins as a NHL coach... Can u guess where Ralph Kruger ranks?

Someone needs to make a Steven Crowder "Mike Babcock is Dan Bylsma, Change my Mind."

a lot of questions...and who really knows?

at 71 he might not want a huge role, or any role for that matter...that said he does have his roots planted in the buffalo area and talks fondly of the sabres...

adams just promoted crowe as the director of both the amateur and pro scouting departments, a position that puts him in way over his head...perhaps director of player personnel which would oversee those departments as well the analytics department while also having a strong input into trades and free agent acquisitions...

to me it's a no-brainer having someone like that...then again, it might not be considered "leaner" and i'm not the owner...

as for krueger, i can't see him going anywhere...pegula's trust him too much

- Michael Pachla

You seem obsessed with the bolded above, without knowing if it's true or not, and the truth is we won't know until we see the moves the team makes in all avenues (players drafted, trades, and signings) and the results of the team that will follow.

This writer has truly terrible ideas, and even the good one is rooted in fantasy land.

To sum them all up:

- Trading Ristolainen for one of Ehlers, Mantha, or Elias Lindholm (good luck with that)
- Giving Cozens the 2C role and Johansson the 3C role
- The final kicker: With all three of Rossi, Holtz, and Lundell available at 8 in his mock draft, he has the Sabres either drafting Askarov or trading the 8th pick for a goaltender 😂😂😅😅

Where is he working?

Coaching up Skinner a guy made 10 mil this year? Don't tell me you are one of those. Take a look at his work history. It is like a very active EKG. Up, down, up, down, up, down. There have been other coaches who haven't mastered the ability to "coach him up" too.

- GilPerreault11

Why would Babcock be in a rush to get back to work? If you want to talk about the Pegulas having fired guys on the payroll, the amount of money Mike Babock is being by Toronto to not show up to work is probably more than the GDP of some small countries.

You do know most epidemiologists state that 70-80% of the population will contract the virus. There is no stopping it, short of a cure or vaccine.

Median age of new cases in Florida is 35. With a survival rate of 99.95. 3,400 total deaths. NY at 31,000. But but the Republicans 😂😂😂

- Fattony1187

Crazy it takes 3-5 weeks for the virus to get someone sick enough to die.
Those states are far from clear.
but facts.

Cuomo is an idiot, but acting like Republican governors are any better just shows party blindness.

The President is a idiot in many ways. But to blame him for everything that is happening is just wrong. Good old regular people need to take blame for what's happening to with the pandemic. And in other things with the government maybe if the parties could come together instead of just trying to (frank) each other we all would be better off.
- Buff36

The entire US government needs to be fired.

The entire thing.

Every single person in government needs to be replaced, as none can be trusted.

The back and forth will never end, they'll never stop pointing fingers at each other, and this country will never move forward with the versus attitude, with Big Orange Ding Dong and the Old Witch Pelosi swinging their canes at each other.

Our government is the Sabres organization. Dysfunction and ineptitude at the top, and a bunch of failures below that. And we as the constituents mostly try, but sometimes you have people laughing on the bench about not wearing a mask and then they lose and they just don't know why.

But hey, maybe we have a few congresspeople who are worth their salt and legitimately give a damn about the people of this country instead of for their own political gains.

my God you are daft if you think Republicans or democrats will have a better outcome with this virus.

The failure stems from the highest authority.

Additionally, you do realize that the virus doesn't kill instantly and these states with huge spikes will have their death rate climb in time.

- Mentalorgasm5

The question is: how much? The median/average age of infection being lower, around 35, is important. If you are under 60, your chances of dying from the virus are very low. If you're under 50 it's virtually zero.

'Seniors' are taking the virus seriously and not going out, or not going out without a mask.

>20-40 year olds, meanwhile, are choosing to ignore the mandates and, let's be honest, requests to wear a mask in the spiking states. Now that there's mandates and shut downs, their numbers will decline in the next 2-3 weeks.

the only way to get rid of this poop is to starve it to death. You don't need to be politically biased to figure out that little (frank)ing nugget.

And another thing. The liberal hype train and the the conservative 'meh' attitudes are (frank)ing annoying. How about accept the (frank)ing science and shut the (frank) up about the politics.

This country (frank)ing deserves this virus.

New York's numbers are going to increase as well as the reopening progresses. Erie County is already starting to see it. It's inevitable now that people are out and about and getting back to normal. All the safety protocols (masks, social distancing, etc.) even if followed perfectly, which is impossible, only slow the spread. They can't stop it. It's going to make its way through the population. The question is: at what rate? The epidemiologists that have been advocating for herd immunity from Day One were right.

Yes, a year ago. Do you believe both players still have comparable value? I do not.

Askarov can be great, but they cannot pass on Rossi or Holtz in favor of Askarov if Rossi and Holtz are available at 8.

Misunderstood what ya meant

Consensus here seems to be that Jokiharju could be that partner for him
Are u thinking we need to bring someone in bc he’s not “proven” yet?

- jdfitz77

Yes.
And Joker is still very young to couple with another very young Dman on the 1st pairing.
In time, I too can see him being Dahlin's partner..or, better yet Joker anchors the 2nd pairing for a long time.
Find a strong defensively aware Dman partner for both, prosper.

I could see Joker playing 2nd pairing minutes this season, to allow his development curve to continue on. This is why I am adamant about trading both Risto and Monte. Joker and Miller are fine for 2nd & 3rd pairing. Monte and Risto are not 1st pairing dmen.

It's honestly tough to disagree with. Unfortunately you risk senior lives. It's almost like it's so transmissible that it's just impossible to stop. You can't lock away the old and vulnerable. There's no good solution, but going to herd immunity route certainly deals with it the quickest.
