You might be right on Tyler, but playing a larger role for the Sabres might be perfect for jumpstarting his career. Depends on what he wants to do, he's not going to be a top 6 center in TB.

God only knows what your hating on in Tristan Jerry. Hes played himself I to a starters role and might even be the goalie that Pitt protects in the expansion draft... Hell, trade for Murray if that's the case.

Is Tyler Johnson even a Center anymore?

I'm sure Jack's first choice is Boston, but even if Adams's hands are tied... There's gotta be no way he trades Jack in the division right?!!

I mean unless it's Jack for Patrice Bergeron and Krugg, you gotta send him out West! Eichel and Miller to SJ for Hertl and Burns.

- SuperCat

Eichel and Miller for an oft injured Hertl and a 35 year old dman. Hard hard hard pass. I say we just keep eichel

Jack would be super easy to hate as a Bruin

Probably the least liked super star on either buffalo sports teams. In history.

Both goalies are RFA at the end of the season. Thoughts here are Murray is the odd man out due to his celery... even if that isn’t the case, one of them will be available.

Question is, what’s the trade look like? A pick? A prospect?

They probably won’t need a goalie back because of desmith... but maybe hutton goes the other way?

I'm not trading two 2nd round picks for a goalie and one that has had one half good year we did that already

Welp, I guess we don't need the LOG line then if you want go turn your 3rd line into a Defensive line.
I think you need to pick a lane.

3 scoring lines if you have the LOG lines, run them about the same amount of time at 5v5

- IonSabres

If u have the LOG line as your main defensive line,
that’s means line3 isn’t gonna get much icetime
If that’s the case,
then you wouldn’t want a 3C making the kind of $$$ that Strome will bc he won’t be on the ice enough to earn it

I felt i explained it pretty clearly
You need to read better

I see 4 possible trade scenarios:
1) In division = king's ransom (2 roster players, 2 prospects, 2 picks,1 maybe 2 teams)
2) in conference = slightly less than king's ransom (1/2 roster players 1/2 prospects 1/2 picks, 3/4 teams)
3) western conference = a great haul (1/2 roster players, prospect, 1/2 picks, 7-10 teams)
4) Seattle = a decent haul more than likely draft day trade (maybe roster player, prospects and picks).

You don't want to trade a top 5 1C, it does set franchise back a couple years but does set up for long term success.
It's a tough spot for any gm with the current state of the team.
If KA and Ralph can take steps forward next season (playoffs or eliminated games 80-82) then i see nothing but positive for the Sabres.

Then get him for less. There's ur #2 center right there. TB can't afford to pay all their centers. A consultant 50pt guy there plugs the hole. Hell, we all wanted Trochek, Trockeck is a 50pt guy.
- SuperCat

He hasn’t played much Center the past few seasons
He’s been on the Wing for a while now
I think he was moved for defensive purposes

bolts have to sign

Mitchell Stephens, probably 1 mil
Anthony Cirelli, probably 5 mil
Carter Verhaeghe, probably 1.5 mil
Mikhail Sergachev, probably 5 mil
Erik Cernak, probably 3.5 mil

that's 16 mil

already at 76 mil for the cap

so they need to shed about 12 mil in salary, at replacing the guys with entry level contracts

NMC/NTC

stamkos, palat, gourde, johnson, kilron, hedman, mcdonagh, coburn

their problem is the only guys lacking clauses is kuch, point and vasilevskiy

those are the only other guys making any real money

Vasilevskiy and Johnson for Tage, Hutton/Ullmark and a 2nd?

- homiedclown

I think he’s more untouchable than Cirelli
They really don’t have anything else in goal

Wouldn’t surprise me if Tampa gets Cirelli, Sergachev & Cernak to take a million less apiece than your estimates
Especially with the no state income tax

he is a better asset to get IMO then henrique

6 months younger, almost a mil a year cheaper

almost identical stats the last 3 years

both contracts end at the same time

Henrique actually plays Center though
And he’s not a liability defensively,
he’s actually a good 2way player

And when Cozens is ready for 2C,
Henrique makes a lot more sense as a 3C in a 2way role than T.Johnson does
I suppose Johnson could just be moved back to the wing at some point...
so i wouldn’t say he’s a horrible idea

Henrique seems like a better fit though
And is definitely a better overall player

One of them is on track to be the starter in Seattle, I'm of the the opinion that Buffalo is in even more of need. If Seattle makes the playoffs before the Sabres... Idk.

Murray/Ullmark tandem works for me. Get'r done!

Well unless it's for McAvoy, Studnicka, Kuhlman or Kase and a pick, and then maybe the phone doesn't get hung up.

Lindy was begging the Sabres to coach and yet we ended up with Ralph Kruiger..?

What da fuuu is going on over there?

"Lindy Ruff is beloved and still considered the best head coach the Buffalo Sabres have had. So much so that the Rangers granted him permission to speak with the Sabres this past summer for their vacant coaching position."

I read a mock draft yesterday, I think it was Pronman's on The Athletic with writers from each city making their pick ...
1-Lafrenier., Team Placeholder
2-Byfield, Kings
3-Stutzle, Dens
4-Raymond, Red Wings
5-Perfetti, Sens
6-Drysdale, Ducks

That leaves
Rossi, Holtz, Lundell, Quinn, Sanderson, Askarov
With The Devils "on the clock"

You are Adam's (congrats?, I think) do you
- wait and take 1 from whose left?
- call the Devils and make an offer for their 7th which includes the 8th +; where the "+" would equal
A) Prospect like Portilo, Brysen, Pekar, Borgen, Laaksonen
Or
B) 4th Rounder

What say you?
