The funny thing is most of us don't care which Gaudreau trade offer Ek thinks is best. I know I don't. Most were pretty unrealistic. It's more fun to ask why it takes 12 days to follow-up on something that should take about 60 seconds to do.

I'm more curious about his Sabres "source" that gets everything wrong. Is it Garth? Is it a guy that used to sell hot dogs at the Aud?

Leafs need a solid hard nosed third line C. Trade Kerfoot for Boone Jenner or someone like him. Dangle Nylander for a top 4 RD. I’d try to get Pesce from Carolina.

Thank you for this post, I now agree, a hockeybuzz post from 12 years ago, this definitely confirms it was mistaken identity. Never mind a story on the athletic with the player himself (along with dozens of others that have been done).

I don't think he's "lousy", just put in a situation that he was not set up to succeed. I think as a RHD on second pairing on a decent team, he could be fine. Nothing exceptional, but fine. And $5M is what that is worth these days.

And really, is Kerfoot and Johnsson really all that valuable a package? It's not bad, but I don't really think Kerfoot carries any value at all. Johnsson isn't bad, but isn't some huge piece.
