Panarin is a Hart finalist, I dont care what anyone says
it's anti-NY bias if he isnt, that's the only excuse |

I agree the system is flawed. Hellebyuck is the clear Hart trophy winner this year and is getting screwed. |

There are over 700 players in the NHL eligible for the Hart trophy. I am OK with Panarin being in the top 5. He had a helluva first season here in New York, but as pointed out, there were several more deserving players.
Same with Fox. He had a tremendous rookie campaign, its not worth getting upset he is not in the top 3. He wasn't worthy of winning the Calder, so if he finishes 4th or so, does it diminish his season?
Lets look forward to their performances in the playoffs! LGR!

The Hart Memorial Trophy, originally known as the Hart Trophy, is awarded annually to the "player judged most valuable to his team" in the National Hockey League |

Listen, I get why Panarin isn't gonna get the Hart consideration he deserves: playing with Jesper Fast is an unfair advantage, I've been saying it for years |

I LOVE Panarin, I just don't see how he wins the Hart over Nathan MacKinnon. We can agree to disagree on this one... |

ok, but then Panarin deserves second, because there are easy arguments that Draisatl and Pastrnak are not the most valuable players on their team
Panarin almost led the entire league in even strength points, he did not play with Zib at even strength ever |

Draisaitl was definitely the most valuable player on the Oilers this year. Point totals, goal shares & production away from Connor, use in key defensive situations- he had everything going for him this year. McDavid is the better player but Draisaitl was the more valuable member of his team this year.
This having been said, Panarin is safely 3rd in my voting. I think there's a clear upper tier of Draisaitl, Mackinnon, Panarin and Hellebuyck. |

from Elliott Friedman:
. A few sources hinted at a “Carolina plan” setting up the playoffs. The Hurricanes politely declined to share a copy of what was proposed, but I’ve asked around and got two different ideas. Some of it was submitted directly by the team to the league, some of it via players through the union.
One suggestion: Instead of a play-in round, weight the 12 teams in each conference by the percentage chance they had to make the final 16. Each team would then play three games, leading to the “final” regular-season standings. Therefore, instead of Chicago and Montreal getting closer to a 50 per cent chance of making the playoffs, their odds would remain at three per cent and 0.1 per cent, respectively.
A second suggestion was to force their play-in opponent, the Rangers, to win four of the five games. If Carolina won twice in that scenario, the series would have been over and the Hurricanes would have automatically advanced. Both proposals were rejected. |

I guess you must have missed his 110 point total... No one else is even sniffing at 100. Drai had one horrible month in december where the entire team played like poop and he went like -20. |

speaking of Kakko, you guys who want to talk Jack Eichel better realize that no package is realistic for him without including Kakko. |

Panarin should easily be in the top 3. Dude had Strome and Fast as his linemates.
His point totals are insane considering both of those players are probably 3rd liners. |

Yea not saying I want him, but you would have to assume he is part of it if they really want eichel. I would probably do it tbh. |
