I'm a fan of McCann and don't think he should be moved. I agree with much of what you said in terms that I'd like to see that, but my overall point was I think it's unpredictable. We could see plenty of things we aren't expecting based on who they like.

Sure I agree some guys will lose their spots that wouldn't otherwise. For Pens, that might be Murray, JJ, Sheary, Simon. It might be one less UFA brought in. I just don't think it will be McCann. But we shall see.

If Malkin gets Rust, Zucker, Marino, and Pettersson for his most common teammates, he won't be shafted.

Rust has had a phenomenal year and Zucker has been a top line level even strength scorer and play driver for years. Marino gives them that 2nd defenseman to tip the ice and despite some mistakes, Pettersson also has been a good possession guy.

Pens have better options to surround Malkin with than they had a year ago, so it doesn't have to be about having Letang or Guentzel. Phil would score but not defend and honestly Rust this year has been the better player. Zucker is much better than anything on Malkin's left and yeah, JJ, Schultz, and Maatta were all severely underwater. They literally improved every spot around him.

I was literally about to post something very similar. Agreed 100%, but I think you can give Jake to Geno as well. As others have pointed out I think the speed of Zucker-Sid-Sheary is just fantastic. Zucker also showed no issues scoring next to Sid.

I'm not deeply invested in who gets which LW right now. Jake's a stud but Zucker os also really good so it's a win either way. Haven't seen Zucker and Geno to compare.

Would Jake be able to go if this thing starts? I can't remember his timeline. Is he skating?

JR said two days ago that he's progressing and the org is optimistic he'll be good to go for the playoffs since there's still a good amount of time before they start. Sounds like there's still some lingering doubt that he'll be ready for game 1, but all in all its positive news.

I posted this in the last thread, but TIOPS basically reported the same as everyone else with JR saying he's on track and expects he should be good to go. TIOPS went on to explain that other players who had similar surgeries took nine to twelve months before feeling 100%.

Obviously we don't know the severities of those other players' injuries and "similar" doesn't meant the same, so who knows.

Word is that he is good to go and pain free.

Hope ya'll staying safe down there. I know the media is gonna amp up the fear and negatives for us up here but none the less I'm seeing some pretty sh!tty clips and snippets of things going on the past 5 or 6 days. We're neighbors. I want to see my neighbors doing good...being ok.

I can see it now... the trophy for 5v5 points per 60 will depict a computer mouse with a skate blade BLASTING through a grid of spreadsheet cells.
