Thanks Todd.

Neither guys seem worth keeping. I think they should sign me. I can ride a bus and keep a place warm on the bench. And I can cook. Just saying.....I am kind of a catch.

Well looks like the Flames Jets series could be a good one. All Canadian matchup, would love to see it go the distance.
Who plays net? I see Ward giving the net to BSD to start, he is our goalie of the future. Need to see if he can step up like his start to the season. I’m sure he’ll be on a short leash though.

I agree on BSD, the team is a bit more invested into his success at this point. He was also the 1A from the start of the season and had talbot not stepped up when he faltered in the second half, while not ideal he would likely still have been the 1A by default.

I predict that unless he really flops in game 1 they’ll give him another game before they go to talbot.

Honestly if any of the draft lottery‘s is won by a slot reserved for eliminated play-in teams I would almost want to lose. An even 1 in 8(or 3 in 8 if all lottery picks are won by reserve slots) chance to select top 3 would be tough to pass up. Not trying to be negative but I’m not sold that we’re a contending team at this point, or at least good enough to beat the #1 seed in the next round if we beat the jets anyways so it might be worth it IF that happens.

I think the team is probably pretty equal on them at this point. I'd be shocked if they didn't bring back Talbot next year unless there's a team out there that's willing to give Talbot the money to be the number one for the next 3-5 years.

The fact that they gave Talbot so much money to be the backup showed that they weren't sure about Rittich after last year and he didn't do much to improve his stock this year.

In Hockey I am a great punching bag. Cooking I am all about the Asian food. Japenese, Korean, and fusion.

Ritter starts but there will be a short list. If Talbot and Rittich get along I can see them bringing back the tandem.

Last year was pretty well rittich’s first year as well too, it would have been foolish not to bring in a guy like talbot

As far as talbot goes I think he’ll be a cap casualty and that we’ll sign a low cost option to back up rittich, especially if the cap doesn’t go up

Although as Duran said they get along together pretty good so if it can be done it will be, I’m just not banking on it

Talbot's already said he's not looking for a 1B/backup situation next year.

So in the end, if he is to return, he's looking to put Ritter's ass on the pine...

How many teams are lining up to guarantee Talbot the starter position?

Resigning with the Flames gives him the best chance to be a number one on a good team.

They took a risk and overpaid him last summer, and he lived up to his contract. Give him two years at 2.5. Seems like a good move for both sides. Who's out there that'll give him 3+ years and a guarantee to be the starter?

Unless he wants to play for a team like Detroit or Ottawa next year, he's going to have to fight for his spot.

Ottawa maybe, but doubtful he wants to battle it out with Bernier all year while squeezing out maybe 10 wins on a basement team. That seems low, but Jimmy Howard went 2-27-2 last year. That team is bad.

Not a ton, but there are a few where he's at least competing for #1, if not handed it outright.

Detroit
Ottawa
Minnesota
New Jersey

Also a bunch of teams with goalies hitting the market next year, so there might be a carousel

Doubt the Flames hand him any more than 30 games next year

It depends on which Rittich shows up. If it's second-half Rittich, Talbot could easily win the job.

It's going to be the same situation anywhere he goes unless he wants to take the paycheque and lose in Detroit for a while.

Maybe he could fit in San Jose if they buyout Jones, but I can't see them buying out Jones to go all-in with Talbot.
