Don't forget the 1500 pc you need to hit the bare minimum specs.

We bought the Oculus Quest when our March Break trip was cancelled.

I must admit, it's pretty cool. It's pretty relaxing to watch a movie on Netflix.

Sadly, I haven't seen any sports on it. And I'd pay a bajillion dollars if someone could figure out how to put on Tecmo Superbowl.

Only true with #4 Oculus Rift. The Oculus Go and Oculus Quest are both standalone. The Quest is pretty damn close to the Rift in quality...but 1/5th the price

I don’t mind watching how the game is currently broadcast. That said, this would be a great way for teams/the league to generate some form of revenue. Charge $25 to watch the game in full VR from ice level seats. I’d try it out.

I am so glad there will be a round robin seeding segment for the already in playoffs teams. That equalizes the rust versus rest issue.

I have two concerns however. I thought the teams would rapid test. But reading the proposal, it seems they will continue to PCR test. PCR tests take 2-3 days to come back, which means the infected person has spent at least 2-3 days with teammates and playing. A single infection could wreak havoc.

The infection danger would likely be highest on the bench. Players are huddled close, and breathing hard. Many of them spit on the ice near the bench. Its not the spit itself that is so much of a danger, but the forceful expectoration.

The other concern is multiple games on the same day in the same rink, which I assume is likely given only 2 hubs. Just because people are not at work does not mean they are not working. How many will have time to watch entire games during the daytime? This in turn may feed into tv revenue. I hope they don't try to get around this by forcing teams to play on consecutive days.

If you are wearing one of these headsets on your couch while the Cup is being presented on the ice...is it so real that you actually consider that equivalent to being on the ice? Like when you wake up the next morning do you say "wow it was so cool to be on the ice last night for another Cup celebration".

Just curious. I've never tried these headsets before...

You can get the NHL center ice package through the PS Store so I couldn’t see why not.

DO one better. Put a mini camera on teh top of or in a goalie helmet.

Watch an entire game in VR from the position of a goalie.

The camera moving when your head isn't would cause absolutely horrific motion sickness in a TON of people.

But then you can't say you were on the ice for the Cup celebration! Might as well just pay a few hundred bucks for that experience.

I have a Rift and that application where you can watch sports in VR and it is fantastic. The NHL NEEDS to do this, especially if we can do this for the upcoming playoff season.
