Ben Shelley: Predicting Devon Toews' contract
- Ben Shelley

Toews is RFA so in a way has no leverage but feel that team will do a 3yr deal btw $3-3.5m per, this allows for bigger signing down road if he improves and more bad contracts come off, just my opinion.

thanks for write up Ben... I think Lou will do a "show me" contract with Toews. He wil get 2 years at around 2.5 mill.

I’ve heard nothing. Which kinda worries me.

Thanks for reading!

I could see three years around $3.5M, works well too based on the Isles cap situation.

Thanks for reading!

I'd prefer he gets at least a bit more term than two years, as there's a good chance he'd cost way more when the Isles go to re-sign him after that deal.

Also on Pelech, Arthur Staple responded to a fan on Twitter four days ago basically just saying that there hasn't been an update on Pelech yet.

So you’re saying that Staple says Pelech died from his injuries, yes?
