Todd Cordell: New Jersey Devils player profile: Nick Merkley

I liked Nick’s game the few he was up with the big club. Thought he looked legit. That said he will have to earn a spot in camp.

I think Todd should do a player profile on his top 31 players of the draft, it does not have to be in order, just his thoughts on them.

The only listed RW on the roster are Kyle Palmeri and Joey Anderson. John Hayden and a few other players have filled in but it is clearly a position of weakness. After that you're look at Nathan Bastian as your top RW prospect. Not sure if Jesper Boqvist can play RW. He's technically a center but we don't play him there.

If I’m not mistaken I believe this team has had zero right wing depth for 300 years. I honestly haven’t the slightest clue why.
