You can't win with Monahan, Lindholm, Backlund down the middle. It's pretty simple. You need a massive upgrade. The window is closing rapidly. I would blow it up and start over. Build around Tkachuk, Lindholm, a couple of the kids on D. Trade Monny, Johnny, and Kneeordano.

I think you’re right that we don’t win with monahan at 1C. I think we stand a chance with rolling Lindholm-monahan-backlund but that’s also something that would have been contingent on acquiring a top six winger which is now unlikely due to what this hiatus will do to the cap.

Also I would think twice about trading monahan this offseason given that his value will be at the lowest for the reasons you listed. Trading players after having bad years usually backfires on the team trading them 9 times out of 10.
