Sometimes I wonder if some of your sources troll you. Not being disrespectful, but I could NOT see this happening. If the ice holds up through 3 and a half periods of play, it will hold up til someone scores. Both teams are playing on the same sheet of ice.

the season is over....so don't worry about it...

If that's a concern, they should do non-stop 3v3. Anything is better than a shootout.

And if this is a trash-tier April fools joke on your part, you should be absolutely ashamed.

Good to see a lighter side. If everything falls into place we may be fortunate and get a shortened season for 21/22. That would lead to some great hockey. Every team fighting for their playoff lives from the get go. It would be nice if Bettman and Daley started to face reality and just started to make some sort of plan for the draft, as the NFL has done. Give us something

LOL this is funny, there will be no playoff no resuming of the season nothing, its done, too many covid cases in the states, its only starting, in july , there will be like 10 millions americans infected, you think we ll have playoffs then, dream on boys

Had me going for a minute....

Shootout would be terrible but on the small chance there is playoff hockey this year it wouldn't be bad to try and limit the amount of OT.

Maybe do 5 minutes 5 v 5. Then 5 minutes 4 v 4. Then go 3 v 3 the rest of the way.

Build some outdoor rinks way up in the NWT and bring all teams in for a battle royal style series. Make it like 2 weeks, do it in Late June/early July so there’s tons of light. Let’s gooooo

My sources tell me all conference games to be split up & played in the Arctic & Antarctic. Cup final to be played on an iceberg in the Atlantic ocean that will be shaved flat.
