Inciteful as always, Jan. My only quibble is Georgie’s puck-handling compared to Hank’s. I’d opine he’s marginally, not significantly better, in that regard. To my eye, he has similarly strong positional abilities, and a better glove. I just keep hoping beyond hope for “peace with honor“ for Hank, because I would so embrace these two kids as a tandem going forward. Like Eddie and Villemure. But better.

Think he is better than that puck handling, but he pales in comparison to Shesterkin. Though that isn't a detriment, as Igor is excellent in that regard. The ability to move the puck to blue liners or out of danger is one reason why Georgiev has been solid since arriving in New York.

In terms of Eddie and Gilles, the young duo has a long way to go before they can be compared to that combination. I hope you are right. Time will tell as not enough history yet for this to be the case.

Goalies are scary how often do you see goalies come in hot then get ice cold

Just reread my comment and noticed I wrote inciteful instead of insightful. LOL. My apologies, Jan. I did mean the latter.

We're talking about goalies, not toilet paper.

This is where the Rangers have to SMART and not SENTIMENTAL.

Hank has to go. Keep BOTH young stud goalies. Rotate them until you see what you got. One may fizzle, both may be studs. Once you are ready to challenge, trade one for good assets. Rangers are in a good spot of 2 young goalies, a young a growing core....be patient. Keep them both. Kiss Hank, and thank him...then let him go.

Play it smart...

Especially true in Philly.

Kidding (a little) but Philly sure does know this over the last 10+ years. Still, the message is a correct one. Keep them both. Let it play out. When one stands out over a year or two, trade the other. Rangers in a good spot. Not yet ready for Cup challenge, but not too far from it. See how it plays out, trade one for good assets. And, could make the Rangers a "Force".

They have to expose 1 of their goalies to the expansion draft remember.

Really the ball is in Hanks court though. I think pretty much all the fans hope Hank moves on or retires. Really not much the organization can do at this point short of buying him out, which I doubt would happen.

Got a feeling we've seen Henrik's last game in A blueshirt Jersey one way or another.

If anything, this hiatus probably hurts the chances of Hank retiring. I doubt he hangs them up after a season with no real ending. Unfortunate...

I'm curious how it's going to play out. I for sure can see what you said as being true. I could also see the extra time off resulting on him having more time to reflect on what a shell of himself he has become instead of just being pissed the org made him the third string goalie.

Only Georgiev would need to be available in the draft. Lundqvist's contract expires, Shesterkin would be in year 2. Possible JF Berube is signed to a cheap two-year deal so that he is eligible to be exposed for the expansion draft, if not him, they will sign someone else.

Indeed, my bad. I think Hank will see the writing on the wall and if not retire work things out amicably w the Rangers. IDT he would want to taint his legacy on his way out the door...I hope

He's not going to get the Rangers anything close to what the media claimed. That's why he wasn't moved.

Darren DReger claimed Rasmus Sandin would not be close to enough to get Gorgiev. LOL.

I don't know B, I think I agree with Bean. I think with no resolution to the season, it works in Hanks favor.

I wish he would retire. They can have a huge bash the 1st home game next season for him, and then they hire him as Allaire's understudy. That would be my favorite scenario

Not to be Debbie Downer but the longer all this madness goes on and the season gets pushed further & further back I just don’t see how they ever resume this current season. Don’t think they would want to force feed us a conclusion to this year if it pushes 2020-21 back. I think if it doesn’t get up and running by Memorial Day they’ll just call it a wash for this season and start fresh and have a normal start to next year in September and everyone will be extra rested and ready to go. Hope I’m dead wrong btw but this pandemic ain’t showing signs of slowing up anytime soon.
