The Leafs are gonna go Super Saiyan on their opponents. Matthews has almost figured out how to perform his Kamehameha technique. The real hard part is figuring out how to use it to speed up his shot, without destroying the puck.

Heard a rumor that if the season is totally canceled and the cap remains the same or goes down some. Because the owners took the loss but the players still got paid and since the 2019-2020 technically wouldnt exist. Bettman can revisit the opt out of the collective bargaining agreement and in turn can initiate a 24% player salary roll back like what was done in 2005. Again just a rumor, so no female dogin at me...

Bottom line. Cap ain't going up what was projected several weeks ago by Daley. Most likely going up VERY LITTLE, or staying flat. Not good for my Hawks. But, we are 2-3 years away from being competative, so not a killer. But, also not good for a Leafs team with half the Cap used on 4 guys. Going to make Dubas's job even harder if he clings to his idea of moving none of them. Looking like the salary structure going forward won't change much. Going to be tough for Dubas to improve that defense unless Barrie comes back on a low deal or he finds some veterans willing to play for less to be a Leaf. Sandin will be a help as he develops. He will be a good one. But, young yet and likely couple years away from being solid enough in own end to be a big minute guy you can count on.

Hmm. So, a lot of general excuses for a disappointing season and the roster construction problems from Shanny that gives him and Dubas a free pass...

What I'm saying here is this thing is not going to 'evolve and grow' on its own. It's going to require some difficult decisions and intervention by this management group.

Watched the extended highlights on YouTube of that game, great game! Leafs team isn't perfect but a thrilling 2-1 win over a top contender like T-Bay you take all day. Flaws or not Leafs have elite scorers and elite tending.

Marner for an elite defenceman. Doughty and a top prospect, which the Kings are loaded with should get it done. And the money is a wash. You have Doughty for at least five years of big minutes and by then the prospect is better than Marner.
