Holland should package Russell and a prospect to a team like Detroit. Maybe something like Russell + Lagesson for cap space.

Wow. Back to the Russell rhetoric.

Russell is replaceable. Russell needs to be traded for cap management.

But.

He has been a solid defenseman for us. More good than bad. If we didn't have Bear, Jones, Benning, and Laggesson Russell would be a solid asset albiet overpaid for his role as the bottom pairing anchor.

No reason to exaggerate. Hopefully the Oilers can move him easily in the offseason.

The only part of this I agree with is "anchor". While I would still likely deploy him over Laggesson, he is the only one. I can't stand watching Russell in the D zone, I am well past the point where I would like to move on (I was immediately when that contract was signed).
