Are the rumours true that Wayne Simmonds has now lost his love for the game?

you're the only one that is praising the trade with W.S. not one person can understand why Buffalo got him. and love how you make it sound like all of a sudden the Sabres are going to be a force...

I’m sorry but “Littlefoot” Sherry and “Big trapper” Rodriguez just weren’t cutting it. This team minus Risto is AFRAID to stand in front of the net! Every game it’s pathetic. Wayne Simmons does that and more. Adds grit to this team that it so sorely lacks from top to bottom (Heck the Eichel fight alone should prove it). And adding Kahun (oh btw has more points than those 2 subtractions combined) just makes it all the much better. So to all the “Homers” on here typing LOL and WOW, your clueless and aren’t actually watching the games but just want to continue to be negative until we win the presidents trophy again! Oh and how that doesn’t work out so well either. So to recap: Sheary and Rodriguez for Kahun Simmons and a conditional 5th is an actual steal.

It's Simmonds. You're probably thinking of Richard Simmons.

Playing meaningful games is important, better than selling off at this point in the Sabres development. Seems like Kahun can be the 2nd line centre they need, though they'll probably need a touch of "Hamburglar" magic to make it all the way to the playoffs...

Should be an intense end of season battle for that last spot in the atlantic.

Yeah, I love Simmer, but man the Wayne Train is slowin down to his last station. He’s a quality 4th liner on a contender. Maybe chip in 6 points down the stretch.

We were sorry to see Kahun go from the Blackhawks. Plays a 200' game, and can pot one every once in a while.

Be careful with giving Leafs fans facts. They might get unhinged.

As far as Kahun goes, he is a good young player with considerable upside. I don't think his potential has been reached yet and he looked good for the Pens this season. His problem is that he is concussed now and probably won't play anymore this season. Also, he will get a big raise and Rutherford knows that won't fit into the Pens' cap situation next year, so he was in a situation where he was basically forced to trade him. His hope is that a healthy Sheary will help the Pens this season, and possibly bump Dominik Simon off of Crosby's line.

Basically it is a mutually beneficial trade that might provide the Sabres some long-term rebuilding benefit and the Pens some short-term playoff help (maybe).

As for Simmonds....

One thing is for sure with both of these trades - they both indicate that GMJB is not anticipating a playoff push for the Sabres this season. So just give it up, Garth.

No blog in a week, Garth? Sabres in a free fall. Now 12 points behind the Maple Leafs.
Jack (hates to lose) Eichel wastes yet another year. How long before he wants out of this mess?
