If shestyorkin keeps playing the rest of the year you guys are making the playoffs. And i cant wait to see which team he helps you knock out in the first round. Best young goalie ive seen in years.

Getting Hank to go to CAR would be great and I think they’d be interested but at the end of the day he holds all the cards. Imagine going against him in the playoffs though? I think at this point you have to keep the boys together and worry about what happens in the offseason in the offseason.

I know that you want to keep Kreider ---you have clearly stated your position on him for quite some time now. But how can you possibly justify offering him an 8 year ( EIGHT YEAR! ) contract? In the salary cap era that is just madness!

We gave Panarin, who is basically 6 months younger only a 7 year deal. Panarin will get consideration for the Hart this year. Kreider is not nearly as good but you want to hitch your horse to his cart for that long?
How many younger players will the Rangers have to pass on because they tied so much money to CK20 for so long? The average career of an NHL player is just over 5 years. Do you really think Kreider will have a 17 year career? Not sure that you're thinking this one through...

I think signing kreider (if we do) to anything more than a 5 year contract will kill us. He’s never been this good and based on that I assume it won’t continue post contract if we sign him

They have to re-sign Fast. He is so important in many ways, Quinn said it all.

I don't mind signing Kreider until he's 35

so 6 year contract is my max

6 year, 40 million deal, that will take him to his 35th birthday in it's final season

I got an authentic blue Kakko jersey last night at the game

I had like 7 different gift cards laying around all different values and I brought them

ended up paying 45 dollars for his jersey, never had a jersey this nice

It definitely beats the Brendan Smith jersey I have

That’ll be tough. It was looking like a 100 point team could miss out in the East. However with the BJs and Canes getting decimated with injuries, I suppose a door opened a little. Depends if those two make a move and right the ship.

if Rangers beat Islanders in regulation tuesday night, I believe the Rangers are going to finish 4th in this division

Islanders, Montreal in Montreal, and Philadelphia back to back. If they go 2-2 I’ll take it honestly.

besides Shesty, I thought Joe Thornton was best player on ice last night

Sharks should get something pretty decent for him

Jimmy that play by Panarin on Kane where he through his stick out and passed it to Zibanejad that was totally on purpose. No doubt in my mind.

The rationale is to lower the AAV. If New York is unwilling to give him the seven years at seven mil he has been reported to want or even the six years for that amount, going the extra years while keeping the total amount to be earned the same is one option. Yes, the extra years would hurt at the end, that’s why you front load the deal to possibly make it easier to deal him. The same for using signing bonuses. Not the ideal but it’s a potentially creative way to resolve a problem.

Winning streaks : saved us from a big sell off of vets we cant lose, But its mute cause winning changes everything , no deal will hamstring us for years with krieds ,he is worth the 6 yr deal @ 6.5 -7 i hope he gets to sign ,any more and its trade winds .
outlined ,we need a top 6 fwd so FAST dosnt have to ,using picks & prospects we may find an upgrade to improve depth and build 2nd line strenght, Fast working with 3rd & 4th lines & ready if needed to fill in the top 6 when injury or sitting someone happens
D ; i'd like to think we have a group thats improving each game & with shesty they look even better , having A dA able to go to left side is insurance for left if needed ,not gonna mess with combos unless injury ,ride the wave with this group.

Overall : we should be buyers ,affording the krieds, strome,a da trio is N P ,i hope we find HANK ,SMith a new place to compete ,a 4th line beast wouldnt hurt so as not to rely on Mckegg as next ,great run deserved ,team is finding its self and winning ,If we sell it must be to upgrade ,not more unknowns in picks & prospects ,NOW is the time ,DONT PUT OFF TOMORROW WHAT YOU CAN DO TODAY !

Larry Brooks on the negotiations with Kreider:
“ Sources from around the league seem to believe that Kreider won’t be traded. Still, though, neither does it necessarily seem as if the Rangers are closer on an extension with Kreider than they were 48 hours ago, when the gulf was significant. So it is unclear whether the parties will be able to bridge the divide in the next day.”

Rick Carpinello on Kreider negotiations:
“ In Kreider’s case, it sounds as if there’s a stalemate, and stalemates need deadlines, and the NHL provides one.

Jeff Gorton, the Rangers GM, and Kreider’s agent, Matt Keator, have talked lately, but not a lot very recently. This could go either way, 50/50. I imagine this is still about the term — the Rangers very likely not willing to go to seven years for a player who turns 29 right after the regular season; Kreider and his agent with every right to shoot for the seven that he will get July 1. The salary is probably secondary at this stage.”

trading Fast & skjei ...separately in blue banteer on what to do with T D ?

I dont see the skjei trade ? his $$ is not that big, his upside is much bigger & hes playing better ,win streaks with P O's at stake are taboo to bust up UNLESS the offer is too big to pass ,FAST going for a #2 aint worth losing right now, could re sign ,playing in NY has its discounts for players to consider , as new kid Guathier said when traded ,evryone wants to come here,he knows how well the NYR treats its team , the travel alone is worth a discount compared to Edm. travel for yr.? anyway we dont need another pick or unknown possible ,Only deals should be HANK -Smith ,go help a team & save us cap $$ ,hope teams want them ?
If we are at the beginning of this team finding its game , with kids you have no idea what the ceilling is ,look at Lingren-Fox..rooks doing this as a tandem ? cmon how many times has that happened & in NY MSG ?? gotta say where can this go , so exciting to watch the onion get peeled ,this team is finding it self & is healthy , with a new stellar goalie (ROY rookie goalie: montreal wins cup) ?
Get a top 6 wing for picks & prospects ,get a 4th liner and away we go ,make the PO's & go for it ...L G R
