The same was said about Iginla and he was a much better player at that stage of his career. - Hockey66
Bylsma (frank)ed that lineup and was an awful coach. Couldn't adjust. |

That's true. I'm just leery of bringing in a big-name based almost entirely on name only. Plus, I don't think he fits the Pens' style at all. We might be on his list, but I hope he's not on our list. Maybe 2 years ago but not now.
Also, I'm not enamored with him like everyone else seems to be. There's a lot of other players who have never won a Cup that I would want to see win one before Thornton. |

Cody walk-in for a 4th was a steal imo even though he’s having a down year. With not much trade stock that’s what you need to find.
I’d be hella stoked for jumbo tho!
Do it, just do it. - 10inchTerror
There's a good chance the pick gets upgraded to a 3rd. I actually like this from the Vegas point of view. They just cleared a bunch of cap space and got rid of an underperforming player they weren't going to re-sign and may end up with a 3rd out of the deal, but at least a 4th. |

So I've been feverish and really bad stomach for several days now. My sleep is all f'd and I haven't really ate in days...slight improvement today.
Anyways I've been having crazy dreams and just woke from one that was Jared McCann calling me from a bar in a mall here in my city. He wouldn't say much or why he was calling only where he was and was with a few buddies. There was alot of awkward silences haha
Figured I'd share...getting cabin fever |

He's not fast but he thinks the game fast and passes the puck precisely. Plus maybe he'll just cross-check Wilson in the back of his head lol |

Feel better soon man! While you had him on the phone you should have told him to start scoring again lol. |

Hahah thanks man. I was thinking the awkward silences were representing his long voids between 5 on 5 production ... |

The thing about Iginla was that he was actually good here despite Bylsma playing him on his off wing for no reason other than refusing to take Dupuis off the top line. The guy had 11 points in 13 regular season games and 12 in 15 playoff games. That’s pretty damn good. Iginla wasn’t a failure here, the coaching was and Rask was a hero. |

So the official Pens Facebook page posted a game day meme like they usually do a little while ago ....4 or 5 comments down "we should of never gotten rid of Bylsma" hahaha. Facebook Penguins comments are amusing AF. |

Meh...if they were giving him away so to speak, I'd give him a try. Definitely not sending worthwhile assets to SJ. I'd rather go young(er) and fast(er). We would sure get more calls, though, based on the sentimentality that surrounds him.
Speaking of centers, everybody assumes that acquiring a center would bump McCann to winger, but why not bump Blueger to winger? Sure, it means that either McCann or new guy would be 4C, but maybe it would mean spreading the time out more and lead to 4 legit scoring lines. - Hockey66
I'm starting to like you. McCann is a much better center than he is wing. He seems to play well with Tanev and Kahun. You want speed, there you go.
When, or should I say if Bjugstad ever returns, that would be five centers. Somebody is getting bumped to wing or the press box. Right wing is loaded (Simon, Rust, Kahun, Hornqvist, Lafferty), Left wing not so much (Zucker,Tanev, two injured guys, two ahl guys). Makes sense to me. |

It would be interesting to see blueger in a different position, and role.
I would try to offload Bjug for anything just to free up space to help fix weaker areas. I did like bjug when he first came over last year and I think he could contribute if healthy but he just is too injured. |

Yup. I was just about to post that. That would be most unsettling if they picked up that bum. JR seems to have a hold on the identity this team needs. Bogosian would be a step backwards.
Bogo is basically JJ if JJ could put up 20 to 30 points a year. |

That has to be team building right? Besides Bjug the other two aren’t close to returning. I thought Dumo just started light skates before practice. |

Eww. I will always prefer a big rugged player. But that’s only when said player can play. Like I’d take Sid with Ovi’s build and tenacity over regular Sid but that’s only if he can still play like Sid. I’d love an ekholm or a parayko who can turn it up in the playoffs but those are good defenceman. Ruth has a hard time letting go of that useless grit. Especially as a righty. I’d take schultz or even Ruhw all day over him. |

Well I guess Ruth is due for a flop. Too many good moves in a row. |
