Kase to Boston according to LeBrun

Good player but always get hurt. I was afraid they would land Rakell. Thank god.

Anahiem wasn't dealing him unless the return was stupid good. Same with Manson

I like both of them but this would mean Légaré or Poulin (+ our 1st RP in 2021) would have to go. Manson would fit right in if we could unload Jacko’s contract.

Gm’s seem to be getting away from rentals and more focusing on term players. After a year and a half prob a lot easier to resign as well if it works out as opposed to a couple months.

Manson is a righty so would be a schultz replacement if we could land him.

I'm going to laugh when Kase gets hurt and is no use to them. In three seasons he's played 53, 66 and 30 games. Dude is the new Lupul.

With every deal that's been made since the Zucker deal, the Zucker deal looks like a better and better one each day.

Remember when Anaheim was going to be a playoff team and Galchenyuk was going to get 55+ points?

That's also a big reason as to why I take his stats with a huge grain of salt. He hasn't had a prolonged period of time for anything to kind of showcase itself. I think he is a great talent and that was a good trade, but it wasn't a slam dunk deal. Kase himself wasn't worth a 1st.

Boston did really well here though. They got rid of Backes and got a potentially useful player back as well.

Yeah, homie hasn't been around anymore. Ban city maybe?

I predicted 30 points for Galchenyuk. I was wayyy off.

Yeah but they dumped Backes. Remember it cost Toronto a 1st last summer just to dump Marleau.

Kase is definitely lower risk due to his cap and he is a good player, but the injury history is horrible. That said, yes, getting that 75% of Backes contract off is huge for them making room to do more. I don't think it's a bad deal per-se, but I think it's a great deal for ANA and for Boston it's really wait-and-see.

Do you like Manson? If so just agree with trading for him. Lol Schultz can be moved on a different deal.

Manson is overrated and overvalued by Anaheim. He gets carried by Lindholm and makes too much to be your 3rd best RD.

Except Boston's 1st is 1 pick away from the 2nd round. Kase is cheap this year and next and is still a RFA after next season. Dumping all but $1.5M of Backes' $5M this year and next is pretty huge. I don't know anything about the prospect other than he is a righty defender selected at #57. I'd say this is a great deal for Boston (which doesn't necessarily mean it is a bad trade for ANA).
