Most likely due to corporate sponsorship. Each week each tournament has the name of a large American or International company associated with it.

In order to increase league revenue, maybe the NHL could have advertising on their uniforms like soccer teams. I can see the Binny's logo on the Hawk sweaters.

And Las Vegas would be sponsered by the "RANCH"!

It must be magic or luck to win Cups. Bowman gets no credit. Q gets no credit. Crow gets no credit. The core gets no credit. We were just really lucky.

Oh wait..... I forgot ….. Dale gets the credit for winning 3 Cups.

FTFY. Above average imo. Consistently a top 10 goalie in the league. Agreed not elite.

Who is elite? The king in NY? Hasn’t won
Price in Montreal? Hasn’t won. Gold medal doesn’t count he was on the Canadian dream team.
Pecker in trash I’ll eat hasnt won anything.
Quick L.A? You could say his defense was as good as the hawk cup teams.
LUongo???? Nope
MAf from his team in Pitt.? Maybe

Not too long but first they have to polish off their Wheaties and Tim Hortons brand coffee.

Since it is early yet this morning I am going to look up review of that Tim Hortons coffee. I wonder if it is analagous in Canada as Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks is.here.

This is what I was looking for when I asked my question. Compared to all on this list, Crawford is top 1 or 2.

Flurry had some terrible playoffs and wasn't even the primary goalie in one of their cups.

Colorado is not a great trade partner for the sole reason they have competency in their FO as opposed to most clubs.
- Assman22

FO's are not going to be quick to upset the locker room by changing goalies right before the playoffs. If your goalie got you this far stay with them. Injuries are our best hope.

So those guys aren’t elite because they haven’t won a Cup? Thus Crow is because he has? That makes sense. Price and King have never had a defense even close to what Crow had. Not hating on Crow, but I’m not tossing around “elite”. Elite is HOF caliber. Crow is not. Crow is an above average goalie and let’s leave it at that.

But then again, to be elite a goaltender does not need a great defense in front of him. your point proved Price and King are not elite.

An elite goalie is one who can play, and win, with no one in front of him. Crawford was the recipient of great defensemen and very good defensive system. Any goalie would have won on those teams. Therefore Crawford was average and not elite. This was the narrative from 2012 to 2016, so it must be true.
- paulr

What is your proof/support that "any goalie would have won on those teams"?

No that's not the point at all. The point is when you have an "elite" Goalie you're less likely to win because you're having to pay top dollar for them and thus can't supplement the team with more depth in front of them for them to play to their elite level. Doesn't mean those guys aren't elite. The point is that with an above average Defense in front of an average or below average Goalie it can make them look even better I.E. Niemi. However, having an average to below average Defense in front of an elite Goalie will make that Goalie look less than elite because of how often they're hung out to dry like Lehner has this year.

My point was that’s why they haven’t won a Cup. They’ve won countless games just because they are elite.

I’ll take Crawford’s career over Lundqvist’s any day. The king my butt, as overrated as they come. Any good goalie can perform during regular season, but can they perform when the lights are brightest?

Anyone who says Crawford is not elite after the Anaheim series has a short memory.

His technique is unreal.

Don't be sarcastic, Uncle Dale obviously should get the credit. And as far as luck when who do you think was the one who gave the team that luck? If you said Uncle Dale you'd be absolutely correct.
- paulr

Red font right?

I agree with Jerry Krause. Organizations win championships and the credit should be spread around. Rocky, McD, Dale/Stan, Q, Crow, core etc. To give too much credit to Dale or any one component is just plain wrong.

If he was anything less than what he was against the Bolts in '15, Hawks don't win The Cup.
And in my opinion, his stage "presence" at the rallies was priceless...….lol
