Ben,
Let me understand this, if we don’t get another top 6 this trade for Greene was a waste?
The Islanders are thin as shat on the blue line since Pelech went down and as much as you, Chiefs and the Girls club love Dobson, I’m sorry to inform you he wasn’t cutting it. Forget about him performing in the POs. Let me add Green isn’t a “ depth” dman, he was on the top pair tonight and played really well adding to the offense

Addressing what you said about Lou not wanting to give up a 1st rounder for Pagaeu, who’s your source Ek? Come on we don’t even know if Ottawa is trading or signing Pageau let alone what Lou is or isn’t giving up for him.
Don’t think you’re in the know there, sorry.

Thanks for the blog.

Depth defenseman? I would not be surprised if Greene plays in the top pairing for what's left of the season. Yes, he's 37, but, considering he barely just arrived and he's still learning the Islanders systems, I think he was solid in his first game.

Seriously

I mean The guy had the only primary assist in the game. Made 3 blocks that were key and took a goal away in front of the net by tying a guy up. He was the captain of the Devils and he’s a depth d man. Holy (frank) please.

Bens love team the Leafs we’re trying to get Greene I understand.

Good article ben.

I dont hate this move IF he makes a play for big time scoring help. Pelech will be back next season so a rental to step in and add veteran leadership on the back end until then is fine.

The isles just are not playing like that team that went on the 17 game point streak

They don't move there feet at all, they are making awful turnovers in all three zones. They back off in the defensive zone..in the offensive zone they stand still.

The worst to me has been the defensemen. Toews won thr AHL fastest skater last year and leddy has wheels but I cant tell you the last time they jumped up on the rush. Its alot of 3 man rushes and one and done in the O zone.

Man, what happened to the team we saw back in november...

Just wish Greene was 27 instead of 37. Still would not mind brining him back next year.

Team does need Leddy, Toews, and Pulock to help the attack. Just relying on the forwards will not cut it. Forwards simply need to shoot the puck more every chance they get and they need to crash the net for deflections and rebounds.

Only been 1 game but the guy has been doing it for a good part of his career. Love journalists that watch him maybe 1 time a year commenting.
If he was 27 Ses we would have paid more

———————————————————————————————————————————

Going back to this from the last blog:

Agree Ses, however that said if you can go and get a high end top 6 proven goal scoring center ( Pageau) or winger ( Hoffman ) do you put our #1 or Dobson in play to go get it?
Reach down and grab um because it a big call.
Easy being GM’s from our coaches.
- nyisles7

Honestly 7 trading Dobson is a no go for me. I trade our #1 for a signed player. New blog is up

———————————————————————————————————————————+

It’s tough to trade a Dobson type I agree. Don’t know what’s out there that is available that I would trade a Dobson type prospect for but it would have to be a pretty good offensive player. I don’t think anyone truly is available today that would be worth it.

You should. He would appreciate it greatly. I mean after you learn how to skate and figure out if your lefty or righty
- nyisles7

Lmao. You’re (pay attention, that is you are) a (frank)ing tool. The islanders played their (keep up) game, but as normal can’t (can not) score

For a 27 year old Greene I give up two 2's.

It would have to be a real special forward to think about moving Dobson. I agree does not seem anyone available to even think about moving Dobson. In the offseason, I can see moving Leddy and bringing back Greene. I do not want to think much about the offseason yet.

Well Toffoli is gone to Vancouver for 2 prospects and a 2nd rounder.

I cannot blame Lou if he cannot make this type of deal. What is your take on the Greene deal chief?

I mean yes, but a Center is what we need, so Lou is going to pay a big price for Pageau if in fact he’s available. If I’m the Sens I’m waiting until the TDL to get the most out of it, if in fact he’s getting traded.

There may be a move out there for a player with term that no one is looking at or thinking of that we get done Ses.
