Greene has to waive to go, reunites him with Lou and keeps him local. A second is a good return even if it’s next year so I guess it made sense for everyone involved.

Amazed we get a 2nd for Greene, it's a good return. Just sad to see the captain get traded, he really was a great Devil. Played really tough minutes through the hardest times for this team and did it well.

In a better lineup playing bottom pair and PK minutes I’m sure Greene will be just fine. Problem is the Devils depend on him to play top pair minutes in a garbage line up with a garbage system. Greene certainly isn’t what he was 3-4 years ago, but I don’t think he’s completely washed up either.

Greene and Zajac are the exact type of Devils players that Lou brought up through the years. Career players with one team, never had a reason to leave and defensively responsible. Shame that we could never put a real strong contender around these players.
