We already have Barrie though...
Brodin it is. - Steven_Seagull
Brodin doesn't make sense as a LHD. I think the only reason why Brodin's name is even coming up is because Minnesota is in firesale mode and because the Leafs are using Brodin as a plan B to Muzzin if they can't re-sign him. Considering Muzzin's extension is around the corner, Brodin doesn't fit in the top 4 and he's too expensive to be a 3rd pairing D when they have Sandin.
Top pair RHD. 2nd pair RHD. That's what they need. Everything else they already have and would simply be wasting assets. |

Severson and Vantanen are interesting but kind of meh options. Neither is a top pairing solution.
Think I'd rather have Brodie and so would Dubas. Brodie is a very high hockey IQ player which is sorely lacking on the blueline. Bennett and Brodie should be deadline targets with an extension lined up for Brodie.
Eric Staal and Marcus Foligno at 50% retained would be interesting. Rather have Staal as the veteran on the team (an actual winner) over Spezza as the 3C and Foligno would be a great physical presence to add on the 3rd line and give almost every line at least one crash and banger.
Bringing in Foligno, Bennett and Clifford makes this team a lot harder to play against in the playoffs. Creates a lot more space for our skilled guys. |

But has a lot of experience playing the right side so it's the same. Unless Keefe is as stubborn as Babcock that he must have a RH at the RHD. |

He wasn't all that good either way.
the best Dumba is ever going to be from this point out is a 40~ point defenseman with an extremely inaccurate rocket of a shot and a tendency to take too many risks going for the big play that burn him. - BINGO!
He could be an excellent fit for this team though. People keep saying he needs to improve his d zone coverage, but maybe what he really needs is a coach who will take the shackles off and let him go on the attack more.

Problem is dubnyk is so (frank)ing terrible. Atrotious rebound control.
Minny has to circle the wagons around dubnyk to prevent 2nd chances at the cost of neutering their offense.
Hard to say what dumba is based on this year. |

However, Botterill may be open to trading Colin Miller to Tampa in exchange for Cirelli.

Colin Miller is a perfect fit for Tampa just as Cirelli is perfect for the Sabres. Botterill can include forward Conor Sheary or Evan Rodrigues in the deal. Miller, 27, is a $3.88M AAV for two more seasons

From what I've heard from Flames fans, the Gio-Brodie pairing was a bit of a disaster.
Which is not to say that Rielly-Brodie would follow suit, but I wonder if Brodie is better left to, well, the left. |

I think Colin Miller will be available for trade. Seemingly there is a trust situation with Miller and Ralph Kreuger. Miller has been a healthy scratch several times this season as well as being the seventh defenseman in Kreuger‘a 11 forward-7D lineup.

Buffalo would be lucky to get a late 2nd for Miller. Cirelli... |

I’m at the Belleville Senators vs Toronto Marlies game in Belleville.
No Nic Petan or Jeremy Bracco for Toronto here. Wonder if they are being held out as a trade is brewing or if hurt?
With all the Leaf call ups this is a pseudo ECHL vs AHL Belleville game.
1-1 after 1. Marchment with one for Marlies.
PS - Koraakov is huge but plays small.
