I'm a strong believer that the result shouldn't always dictate the penalty assessed. Just because Kassian didn't cut the other player, doesn't excuse him from his actions. I don't think it needs to be explained how dangerous and stupid his actions were. He needs a lengthy suspension. You start pulling moves like that, you're not just endangering someones career, you're endangering their life.

I loved watching everything Kassian did to Tkachuk because he really is a little female dog. That being said, Kassian should get five games for the act and another five for being a moron.

The NHL has Suspended Kadri for remainder of the year as a result of the Kassian incident. In reaching their decision, the league noted that Kadri is a repeat offender. In other news, the League has announced Chara and Marchand are co-winners of this year's Lady Byng.

5 games for sure, probably more, that was epically stupid and dangerous. I like way Kassian plays but not that kind of stuff, wow wtf dude?!
Losing your temper or not, you simply can't kick someone.

Depends can you skate up to someone and crosscheck them in the face? Ala Kadri DeBrusk.
Then you'll say can you knee a guy and then I'll say can you hip check someones head into the boards...
We can go back n forth all day with this.

Problem is you're butthurt and this a Kassian issue not a leafs issue.

Oh boy, are people overreacting. Sure, it was stupid and he deserves a suspension, but it wasn't some overly violent malicious or dangerous act. He probably was just trying to push him away. Most of the stick related suspensions are far, far worse than what Kassian did.

Should be a 2-3 game suspension, but will probably be 5-6 because it's Kassian.

You don't push someone off you with your blade, and he pulled his leg back and them pushed him. If it was resting on him and he pushed that's one thing, pulling leg back and then thrusting it forward is another thing completely.

I'm not saying it wasn't stupid and suspension worthy, but it wasn't some malicious dangerous act people are making it out to be. When you push someone with your arms you pull them back as well. The optics of it are far worse than what actually happened.

Cernak was on top of his little buddy, and he wanted to get him off.

The thing about players' arms and hands is that they don't wear skates on them...

It wasn't super malicious but it was very dangerous.

No.

You do not kick at someone when you've got a (frank)ing knife on your feet. It doesn't have to be malicious to be dangerous.

It'll be 10.

You're right, we could go back and forth, at the end of it though, there will be the toughest playoff suspensions ever, on our side and SFA consequence on your side.

Agreed. Kassian's was an extremely dangerous play.

If he catches all pad, it won't do much damage, but if he is off by an inch and you have a Karlsson, or Mikheyev situation... and he is a douchebag, who just had a suspension. This should be pretty serious.
