Sven! Love my GR connection. We absolutely could do worse, but that’s not the point. If Yzerman is really being very specific about direction, and i believe he is, then hiring tomorrow’s coach is worth waiting to get right. Gabby lasted through three GMs because they didn’t want instability behind the bench. With expectations being zero, Yzerman can hone in on what’s best for building a real contender. I just don’t think Gabby is that guy

But I'm not going to get my hopes up about Gallant or any other head coach until Blashill is officially gone. He's Rasputin. All these head coaches have been fired yet Blashill remains. He's currently the longest tenured head coach. He's like a turd which just won't flush.

I mean, he’s doing great at “the job they want him to do”. It’s always prefaced with lack of talent, etc. and injuries. He’s leading this team to a very good 4th overall pick at an enthusiastic pace.
