Wish Bruce the best and have no bad feelings towards him, but I am pleased with this news. Now the question becomes who gets the spot and do they go interim or slide head first?

Certainly there are examples of teams doing mid/late season coaching changes and making deep successful playoff pushes, but this means we can expect some more trading? I would have to think we get to see a few more players moved unless there was just not a reasonable transaction to be made.

What a time to be alive!!

Not his fault but he was the coach and carries some of the responsibility.

Yes it’s happened before teams making mid/late season coaching changes and make a playoff run but the difference is those teams had talent ........

Well, to me, this just sucks! Boudreau was not a major problem with the team. I am guessing that after last night's collapse against the Rangers, BB probably asked Guerin that if he was going to fire him after the season to just do it now and relieve him of the pain that is the Wild roster. The 1st period was good, and I expected a big pushback from the Rangers in the 2nd period. But the Wild looked like they were sleep walking for most of the 3rd period.

I'm almost in complete agreement with TweaterBen now, except I don't think they need to get rid of 18 more players. Keep Dumba, Brodin, Fiala, Soucy, Greenway, Eriksson Ek and Foligno. Dump the rest. Staal looks like he is dragging a piano behind him again. Koivu IS dragging a piano, among other things, behind him. I know no one is going to take Parise or Suter. Trade Spurgeon to a team that is just about completed with it's rebuild, he will be a steading force for them. Can Dubnyk be put on some type of family emergency list for the rest of the year? Time to play Kohkonen up in the NHL...or are they trying to hold him in Iowa so he can't be picked by Seattle?

Depending on the rules for the Seattle draft, it's probably time to bring up Anas and Mayhew. I don't think either of them has anything left to prove in Iowa. Probably should be bringing up Menell, Sturm and Belpedio as well. Guerin said if the Wild roster quit again (and they did last night) more trades were going to happen. Please back those words up Billy. Speaking of Anas, is he playing C in Iowa? Both he and Mayhew are listed as RWs, but there is no really C that is keeping pace with those 2 points-wise. So I am guessing Anas is playing C.

This was a poor decision by GMBG. Timing was bad, the team was only 3 points out of a playoff spot in spite of not have a legitimate top 6 center in the NHL and basically 6 left wingers. He consistently turned poop into silver/gold with this club.

So what I hearing now is this might be a veiled attempt by Guerin to tank the rest of the season. Kind of hedging his bets though letting Boudreau go. Anyone here if there was any disagreements between BB and BG, like they weren't on the same page with things?

I think thats probably wishful thinking. I don't think BG or CL want to miss the playoffs this season especially since CL has said multiple times that the only way he can turn a profit with the club is if they play in the post season. Just my two cents. I think BG was irritated with the 3rd period collapses and since he wasn't planning on bring BB back, he wanted a pliable coach who would play whichever players BG wanted including any deadline pickups.

only 3 points out, 25 plus games left, winners of what 7 of 10? Just odd timing regardless of any disagreements between coach and GM.

My gosh the Wild are a weird headed bunch. Not sure there is a course plotted in. Sad for Bruce as I think he was the thread that tied it all together. I think BG is pissin on his fencepost marking his territory. Good luck.
