I guess we're pushing Pat, get that b!tch back on the road! - obie
just curious, what would be your "tipping point" making that bus crash down a cliff? A loss after tonight? tomorrow? I'd love a magical run for sure, but.. |

Way past the tipping point, just having some fun, they went on a nice run but it was over awhile ago
Still think trading Tatar and Petry right now would go a long way for the near future |

so the return for them wouldn't only be picks in that case I assume? |

the best that could happen would be if Price tells MB he wants out. until then, they're (frank)ed imo. |

I'd stay away from picks, or not make them a priority.... if you can get a better prospect and a 2nd instead of the usual 1st, that would be ideal I think
Going back to where we were a month ago... Tatar, Petry & Kovalchuck can be turned into 3-4 D prospects and picks |

Let's just all face it. No matter what happens, there's gonna be some pissed off fans, and some happy ones. No point on arguing who's more right. |

well if they did their homework and know for a fact that those prospects will pan out, sure, but there's always a risk.. |

Right... obviously I can't hire scouts, so I can only go by what I read and stats, draft rankings and such
It's the poopty part about being in the seller position, you're dealing for potential but its still better than just spinning your wheels |

my only problem in trading those guys is that you need vets around to support the kids.. replacing them with other kids and having them play with already struggling ones might not be the best scenario |

Shouldn't be.... there's a long list, probably over 30, defensemen from the 20 teams in playoff spots or still hopeful for one that would fit the bill and could most likely be had if the Habs are willing to really do what's right for the organization |

Pretending to try to make the playoffs next year might be the priority which means not much will happen on the 24th or this summer |

As long as Gallagher, Weber, Danault, Price and others are around, there's no worries with leadership....
If you dont trade them, you sign them and that opens up a whole different can of worms
I'm getting some serious deja vu 😃 |

And this is where MB can't win. Anything that happens now will be judged on his career with the Club, despite his record on trades. For example, if the Subban trade were to happen today, chances are he would be canned at the end of the year, before seeing the fruits of his labour. So, trading Petry and Tuna now may get us great dividends, but the press (and fans) would annihilate him for giving up. If he stands pat (and I don't mean on his knees over a toilet tank) he'll be roasted for doing nothing. It really (frank)ing sucks. |

And that's the most likely scenario and frustrating as fawk...
Look at the Zucker return, cash in!!
Petry cost a 2nd and a 5th 5 years ago
Tatar was a throw in with retained salary
Kovalchuck literally cost 300k
They could almost build an entire D core for years to come out of all that found money! |
