I like the 3rd line with Bellows but don’t hate Ross getting in against The Caps. Kid watching with the staff from above isn’t all that bad. All part of the growth process.

Komorov has been the best replacement on the CCM line and that line has been out to shut down other teams scoring lines and doing a good job of it. Let me add Leo is one of the best PKers on the team and taking him out for me makes no sense.

Thanks for the new blog. Cpt read it 6 times already.

#Isles Barry Trotz says one lineup change possible tonight up front.
I'm also assuming Varlamov will start tonight after Greiss started in DC.

Hoping that one line up change is Bellows either on the third line or maybe even giving him a shot with Barzal for a few shifts? May be a crazy thought but that line is frustratingly reluctant to shoot so who knows? Kid seems to be able to keep up with the NHL pace so far worth a shot imo. Have to change something up. I say that knowing he was effective on the third line so I get the why the hell would you change it thought process.
Maybe some 2nd powerplay time?

Would be interesting to see Bellows with Barzal and Eberle. Schwein might not like Lee on the 3rd line.

Honestly Eberle and Lee both shoot when it’s there. Unfortunately for me Barzal has been dancing East west and doing his Peggy Fleming and tuning over the puck instead of going north south and keeping it simple. When Barzal is doing his skate around the zone routine I think Ebs and Lee are caught watching.

Just my opinion of course.

Have Lee and Brassard seen much ice time together?

I think Lee hasn’t really put himself in a good position to shoot lately. Eberle to me for the most part has been the best player on that line but he also tends to hang on to the puck too long sometimes and pass when he should shoot but like I said he’s been much better lately. Barzal has been the worst player on that line and this team some nights lately. Also, I’m not saying throw Bellows on there for a game but maybe a few shifts and some PP time and see what the kid does with it. We all know this team as a whole has a propensity to pass and not shoot so I’m curious what a shoot first player can do throughout the line up.

At least Burkie is calling it and we get him without listening to Butch try to talk after butt-chugging a litre of vodka

I think Bellows deserves a look on PP2.
Other than that if Barzal gets his head out of his ass I think that line will be effective.
Lee imho has scored more goals from outside the slot this year. Ebs has a shooter first mentality as far as I’m concerned. Really Barzal needs to step it up or tone it down. Which ever way you want to look at it. I guess we don’t agree on Ebs and Lee’s play but do on Barzal’s

He has but I almost feel like it’s taking him away from what really makes both him and that line successful. His net front presence has been lacking and he doesn’t have some incredible shot. The guy is pretty much modern day Mark Parrish or lesser Holstrom he needs to get back to that game. It will also help the PP which has everyone skating around the perimeter puking the puck over far too often 😂

I don’t know, Lee has been a beast in the corners and in front of the net. Ebs is Ebs and Barzal needs to change it up. For me the vets are playing their game Barzy need to clean it up. I think we agree on that.
