I think the only way that Corey is on our team with that kind of term and cost is if he tests FA and no one else gives him what he wants. Last night aside, he is still a very good goalie, and people pay stupid amounts for them. If everyone else passes on him, then the Hawks throw that at him, but I don't think he signs for that in CHI as the expected starter.

I'm rarely one to get into political discussions, but I think we can all agree that neither of the two referenced individuals are what would be considered intellectual giants.

The problem is that most people only see issues through their own frame of reference and almost completely neglect to consider where the other side comes from, hence gridlock and the disaster we see unfolding in front of us. Maybe if we had elected officials that could/would actually have a substantive debate/discussion about various issues, we could get some compromised solutions that actually address said issues.

I think if Crawford WANTS, and that's the huge variable here with his wife, young kid, injury history...…..he COULD get a 3-4 year deal on the open market for similar money to what he's earning now.

HEs not a liability out there. HE can still be a 1 on a playoff team.

IMO.....Keith, Saad, Lehner and maybe Strome get you the biggest return for likely guys that COULD be dealt.

WE can all argue about who SHOULD be dealt but those 4 can net this team some big pieces in return...draft picks, high level prospects, young NHL rostered players.

Guys like Carpenter or Smith have some value for clubs looking to fill a hole for a deep cup run.

Im prepared either way....I hope Bowman makes smart trades for the future but I also could see him standing relatively pat IF they are within 5 points of WC2. IF he adds and gives up prospects or picks......I'll need a mental time out.

Hey Scott. Logically this all makes sense, but as we saw with Joki over the summer, Stan can pull some head scratchers. I'm sure they have a very different evaluation of certain players than we do (see Kampf and Smith). I wouldn't be surprised if some moves were made that notably alter the team. I also wouldn't be surprised if they just stand pat with a minor move like you mention.
