One is not like the others....

Carpenter is on a very team friendly deal at 1mm AAV for 3 years. He's very useful. A big part of a vastly improved PK. A good character guy.

Keep Carpenter.

- Fat_Tony_Amonte

I like Carpenter, but guys like him are extremely valuable this time of year. Remember what Uncle Dale gave up for Sammy Pahlson in 2009? THink out of the 3 as you point out, you need to maximize return.

Im just puzzled that 56 is still here....Im afraid Bowman is asking for way too much for him.....and wont' be able to move him....and then extends him.....and then this board will need a universal discount at Binnys to watch that goof mess up simple defensive plays.

It’s not like I wanna throw cat and Strome away for nothing.

I legitimately think we can upgrade the team. It’s about improving, not subtracting for inferior value.

- SimpleJack

That goes without saying though. If trading Kane makes the team better then Stan should do it. But what type of realistic return for Strome and DeBrincat makes the team better?

That is awful and great at the same time.

Awful he had a heart failure of some sort on the bench....great....he was revived by the medical team, and is alert now.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Blues push to postpone next game as well. Has to shake up the room a bit.

Better his dad was there and not watching on tv. If my son went down like that I'd go nuts if I had to watch on tv. All the best for he and his dad.

I was being sarcastic on Dach.

You are right on DeBrincat...it is 3rd year.

DeBrincat has a 8.3% shot percentage this year vs 15.5% and 18.6% in previous years......Even if he dipped to 12% he'd have 19 goals......So, I think it's safe to say he's had a lot of factors all hit at once....bad luck (posts, high danger saves by opposition goalies), missed shots (heel shots, shanks, missed the net), and overall frustration/lack of confidence.

Almost like a hitter who keeps hitting rockets at guys, and everything that could go wrong, did......

- SteveRain

And this is good data, as we are fifty some odd games into the season, so plenty of data points, unlike some other data that is spewed here.

There are few players I hate more than Mike Smith. He cheats by flopping his helmet off not once but twice and the lousy officiating let him get away with it. Certainly the second time he did it should have been a delay of game penalty.

But the bottom line is the Hawks aren't good enough because they're not consistent - three good games followed by three bad game. They are where they belong - on the outside looking in.

Hopefully Stan sells and get's something to help them be better next season.

I helped Pat Stapleton off the ice after he was cut in the cheek by a skate. We could see his top & bottom teeth through the side of his face. A couple guys hurled. Whitey wound up with a monster zipper across the side of his face.

One of the worst ones I ever saw was a woman who caught a puck in the side of the melon (the top one). She was yapping with the person next to her and not watching. A D man under pressure on the opposite side of the defensive zone tried to go off the glass with it and just missed the glass high and the puck smoked her. Maintenance guys had mops to clean up.

Also saw Brad Gassoff from St Louis put Lou Angotti through the glass right next to the Stl bench. The paramedics were digging laminated glass chips out the two ladies faces that were sitting in the front row. Sometime after that they changed out the glass for acrylic.

Many more, too much to type. I do know that the stretchers and medics are in the Zam tunnel during the game.

Was Jocelyn Lemiuex cut at home? I can't remember.

I saw a guy vs the Rangers in 2008-09 pass out during the anthem, he was beyond hammered, fall face first from row 2 into the half glass partition they have in the 300 level and bust his forehead open. He looked like Rick Flair....blood EVERYWHERE

I don't think Rocky has the patience of his dad. That's a good thing when you want to make changes, but I don't see Rocky putting up with losing the money for years at a time like his dad did. I think he'd sell out at some point.

He isn’t selling, his capital gains tax would be astronomical. Wirtz owns the arena, he will want to control his major tenant.

hockey-reference.com

Great site.

When DeBrincat bounces back that kid will be as mentally strong as they come....and will be able to handle streaks like this in the future. Could have a little Sharp in him with that....

Maybe it was Josh, but the first thing that came to my mind was Tuomo Ruutu getting his foot cut severely right through his skate. And that was immediately after he came back from a different serious injury.

Exactly, it would be for another struggling young player. I couldn’t wait for how long the board would go nuts if Jonathan Drouin was in a Hawks uniform.

1 of the best things I saw Crawford do was in the series vs Phoenix in 2011.....At the end of Period of 2 or during a TV timeout, he bumped Smith and jawed at him. It was after that Smith act when either Bickell or SHaw ran into him behind the net in Phoenix.

That was 1 of the most frustrating series for me as a fan. Too bad Talbot didn't bea the living hell out of him a few weeks back.

That was a game against Detroit. The dirty SOB Kontstantinov butchered his mouth with his stick, and there was no penalty called.

Everyone has a price....if the value of the team and league sky rockets he could at some point....I agree its unlikely but he very well could.

What is interesting to watch is the time frame he has vs what McDonough has vs what Bowman has in regards to getting back to being a routine participant in the playoffs year in and year out. Have to think they are all on the same page but nothing is given.....when Bowman gets canned, that's when you know Wirtz's patience ran out.

How soon before Eichel demands a trade out of Buffalo?

Plus how many million did he get when Vegas came into the league? And when Seattle opens? Free money, wins/loses don't matter. Good marketing does the rest.
