I didn't see Seabrook and de Haan out there tonight. Did you?
- Elbows15

Well if you read his original post he was talking about the improvement heading into this year.

And for all your female doging about maata and koekoek you hear foley mention they are a +9?

And for all your female doging about “lard ass”
How about 50 get off his ass on wheelers and kopps goals? Those were brutal bad short side goals. Can’t happen. Ever.

Interrupting the doom and gloom (I'm feeling it, too), for something pretty cute:

No matter what, our decade of dominance and our stars sure influenced the next 1-2 generations of hockey players

Gus has a hard slapshot and it impresses the hell out of Stanbo and JC.

Gus, Dinky & Strome need to join Nylander with a seat in the press box. None of them are playing competitive hockey.

- RickJ

Agree with you Rick, but watch out what you say here you will get shredded. If Edmonton would make a decent offer for Alex DeBrincat So he can hop back on the coattails of Connor McDavid one would have to listen, but then again Ken Holland is not a stupid general manager. I can’t believe Bowman gave that kid $6 million a year.

I didn’t say they have to sign Lehner either. I am all for blowing it up. Blake waited too long to do it with the Kong’s and that team is still in worse shape then the Hawks for the next few years.
- LAHawk

Tonight was a horrible loss and another lost opportunity. More of the same as they are down by the Sharks without 1 of the 2 (40 or 50)

Pp, 5 on 5 high danger chances against and home record are also issues.

Without another mini run, and soon, Bowman be better selling and not appeasing fans at months end.

You mean like the goal lard ass let go in from Debrusk last game? Can't go in ever.

No. You aren’t benching or taking your best pure offensive F off the pp. that’s insane.

19 needs to stand in the soft spot in the slot or 12 or 8. Somebody who can finish. Below the fs and in between the d men.

Their mantra on the pp has been this way for years. They have talent to be a good pp. just like they corrected the pk.

IMO they need to hire a pp whiz. The next Adam Oates. Implement a new approach.

- SteveRain

Same old powerplay each year. Hire a PP whiz. Do you honestly think this could happen?

The insane thing is doing the same thing over and over agin and expecting different results.

Again, what would they have to lose? Bottom 5 in the league with Kane.

- Ogilthorpe2

You want dach on the pp? You see the shift where he gave it away 2-3 times and then took a lazy penalty? Kid has a lot to learn still. He’s not an answer on the pp....yet.

Eh who cares. This team at best is a wc1 or 2 and bows out in round 1 unless 40 or 50 go Curtis Joseph.

Amazing how you don’t mention it but if 40
Let’s it in you’re all over him. No agenda there.

No issue with TC. Does a great job. I do miss how JJ was involved in the discussion after games, win or lose.

Washington did it with Oates and they were unstoppable for the most part.

They have skill. They should routinely be a top 5 pp.

People can say pp doesn’t. Matter. It does. You score on the Pp it helps mask 5 on 5 and keeps teams on their toes.

They seem to have the pk figured out.

The drop pass zone entry is horrific. And it’s only a matter of time before they drop it to nobody and it’s a gimme breakaway against.

Did you also like his bullpoop sources and made up trades? TC gets involved in the discussions but doesn’t pretend he’s a hockey insider with NHL connections.

I'll take Ty's writing and contributions over the old environment every day and twice on Sundays. Posters have been cranky over the past couple years because the Hawks have been losing. When the Hawks were winning things were far more contentious here.

If Kane made the same shot Wheeler did you would saying what a great shot it was. And it was. Every goalie in the league is going down in that spot.

That’s fair. I like John but his ego at times always saying he was 1st was an issue. Saw he did the same thing again claiming the rink was the only projecting hawks to sign a possible 1.

Really? Think everyone who watched a game the last 2 years knew it was a possibility given 50s health.

I don’t see anyone on the beat or radio having legit hawks sources. It’s sad. And given newspapers issues lately the beat will only get smaller. I’d rather wax my sack then read Lazarus.

Next season, when Dach turns 20, will he then be able to be sent to Rockford if necessary? Anyone?

That would be the best birthday gift for Kirby, he needs time in the A to marinate

Dinky will never be much more than a goal scorer, that's what got him to the NHL. So when that part of his game isn't there, he becomes a liability on the ice. Holland doesn't want him, he's got little Yamamoto playing very well after learning the game in Bakersfield.

And speaking of Edmonton, notice the difference a professional NHL coach can make. Tippett is doing pretty good with having only 4 or 5 legitimate NHL players, 16 AHL'ers and 2 crappy goalies..

Maybe they should just trade him now before the whole league knows he is a bust.

12 has had a rough year. No question.

He can be better.

I’m excited to see how a whole offseason. Helps 77. Kid is 19 and still is hard to move the puck. Same with 27.

I liked how he got guys banned who dared to disagree with him...true story. One of the funniest things to me was how JJ bristled at the idea of McDonough "managing the message".

For a guy who wasn't a fan of dissenting thoughts, if anything you'd have thought McD would have been JJ's hero.

On the bright side the Hawks have now moved "up" into the 8th draft position. If they play their cards right and get a little help they could move into the top-5 by the end of this road trip. The Wings and probably the Kings won't be caught but the more ping pong balls the Hawks get the better odds to jump into the Lafreniere derby. Fantasizing about a Lafreniere-Dach-Kane line ... oh my!
