This is a rather embarrassing loss.

It was bad, a blown lead like that. This team is not a playoff team, period.

This game was not even competitive after the fist period, Jets walked the Hawks. Goalie had nothing to do with it.
- kwolf68

It was all downhill after they gave up the shorty. PP continues to be inexplicably bad.

I thought you didn’t want players to get injured?

Refs, players, especially Bettman. This game was rigged.

I’ll let all 7 of you get back to your conversation. This place used to be a great place for diverse Blackhawks dialogue. Now it’s a handful of trolls spewing garbage.

Alex Debrincat and their power play were horrific tonight. Could Crawford have stopped their third goal? Sure..did he also rob Winnipeg multiple times from prime scoring chances? Absolutely. Statement game and they disappear after the first period. I don't understand how a head coach could continue to put out the same garbage PP unit time and time again with results like that. Just pathetic.

In reality, it’s my fault for watching. Can’t remember the last time I watched a win live. It’s been months.

Sadly, you are correct. But I think they have made progress vs. last season.

This summer should be an interesting off-season on many fronts for the Hawks.

It went down hill when Seeler was given a penalty for taking a cross-check across the face. Understand, once a team known they have the refs on their side, they can cheat to the penalty side all game.

Not only that, but the Hawks looked like THEY were on the PK. Just pathetic and sad. I think this blown loss (if it does hold up) is the beginning of the end. The 2nd period was egregious.
- kwolf68

The powerplay has been influenced too much by Kane and probably a few veterans who go along with Kane's way. The pp coach and head coach are basicly given courtesy of listen and temporarily try a new wrinkle - even then the Pp is dusmal when their is no man in front of net or a few other issues. Clearly Kane has final say, no? Obviously the Blackhawks need a coach to lay down the law or whom is not going to let Kane run the Pp how Kane chooses. Babcock would have it his way and Jane would just pout and get some bench here and there because Babcock would let him know who runs the system used on pp.

To be sure it is not just Kane whom is too predictable on the pp.

This team is too soft, collectively, anyway to fight to battle to grind out victories each night in a playoff run. Bowman had not assembled a capable enough squad. Which is unfortunate because there is talent and young players whom will get better. Of course if Kane had his way and Bowman doesn't make the right adds, we are merely a pretend playoff team which gets kicked aside once playoff stretch arrives

I don't know if Bowman will adjust or if mcDonough will see through this

Especially when Bettman orchestrated a pathetic Hawks PP that ended up in the back of OUR net. Do you live on this planet?

Retaliation almost always gets caught. Always has, always will. The frustration on Seeler’s part is understandable, but he needs to know better.

The Blackhawks had 5:01 of power-play time in the second period. In that time, they had one high-danger scoring chance. Winnipeg had three. That's less than ideal.

I think thatsa problem...

I think it's time to sit DeBrincat. He fought his whole career with a "me against the world" attitude because he always had to prove the doubters wrong that his diminutive size was not a limiting factor. But now that he scored 41 in the NHL and got a big contract - maybe he's lost that "me against the world" edge that he had. Just theorizing but he has botching plays all season and it cost the Hawks a shorthanded goal which started the unraveling of the game. Tell him he'll get back in after he figures out how to extract his head from his ass.

I’ve been saying for years now that Kane is the problem with the PP, and I’m still convinced it’s true.

Everyone on the ice defers to him, and this causes everyone else to stop moving. They have the least movement on the PP of just about any team I’ve ever seen. Pass to Kane and wait for him do something magical...that, apparently is the strategy.

You mean the "Stan sucks", "McD the Meddler", "Toews sucks", "Hawks suck", "First round out" convos that permeated the threads when you were frequenting.

Yes, those were truly the salad days.
