I tend to agree about your point, let the offers come to to the CBJ. Sadly, the big problem is that we need offense, and the top players possibly on the block are in the Metro, and I'm not real happy about sending young guys to a team we will see 4 times a year for the next 10 years in this blood feud of a division.

I also would not mind a rental, if he is the right rental and there is some kind of decent chance we can resign him.

I agree TT - Jarmo should be buying this year, but no rentals. I don't believe there's anyone on the current list of suspects that can really give us a charge.
Use the D surplus, plus some extra O men - Anderson, Milano, maybe even Wennberg, to get a top-6 forward with term; or maybe some picks in the top-3 rounds.

I understand Johnny Hockey could be available.

Game had a playoff feel to it, both sides not being afraid to lay the weight around, that being said, injury and lack of a 2c behind Dubois is what's hurting this team right now...

I don't think the unanimous opinion was no way we're trading JG as much as it was no way we're giving him away. He is having a down year but he is still an explosive offensive player with a cap friendly contract. If the Flames miss the playoffs there will be very few untouchables in CGY and there will be teams that will make strong offers for JG.

Unless the Jackets can attract some UFA's they will have to trade to inject some offence in that line-up. The Jackets will also have to pay up next year to sign Dubois, Anderson & 2 goalies so I don't see them throwing big money at top UFA'S.

There will be many teams interested in JG (2 x 6.75m) if he becomes available this summer.

Quick question: If he has value for the CBJ why would Philly trade him to a team in their division? Maybe you are valuing him a little too high?
