Montreal entered the season with a top young center looking to break out [Drouin] and two highly touted centers graduating to pro hockey [Poehling and Suzuki]. Montreal had a center we all like, too, in Daneault. Plus they have the Finn Kotkaniemi struggling to put up points.

The Canadiens have lacked size at center for years. They lack star power. At one time Paciorety looked to be their top gun but he wound up going to Vegas after expressing unhappiness with his contract
. The Canadiens are trying to rebuild their defense and center positions.
