I highly doubt he will demand a multi-year contract because he knows that no team right now could afford it, nor would any GM give him one..... Sure if he had an excellent rest of the season he would probably get one in the summer but not now..
I mean the Hawks are one of the few teams that could actually give him a decent contract for the rest of the season..... Bowman could sign him for 7 million but that would be a "pro-rated" contract meaning that his cap hit wouldn't be 7 million, it would be more like 2.5-3.... - Savard2Secord
He has made approx $60 mil. in his career not counting the nest 2. He walked away from $15 mil. over the next . Somehow I do not believe Buff is selling to the highest bidder, if in fact he does come back.

That's what we need a 34 yr old player who doesn't want to play hockey anymore |

Is there any kind of salary cap recapture penalty for Winnipeg for terminating the contract? If there isn't, Why is there a penalty for a player to retire but it is ok to just terminate the contract? |

Who the heck is Poloski? They have Jordan Weal , Nick Cousins and Joel Armia playing on their PP. They are in no position to move any offense. So Drouin is out. He is injured, too. - Elbows15
They have a productive impressive rookie center in Suzuki. They just sent their #1 from a couple years ago,Kotkoniemi, to the AHL. Bergevin needs to add star power and really just rebuild. Gallagher is pretty good.. There is Daneault too.
Bergevin had been trying to make big player moves, such as free agent signs. I don't know much detail about 5hei4 center depth But coming into thiss3ason there were two highly regarded rookie centers inPodliski and Suzuki plus.Dansult. %hey needed a break out year though from Drouin and instead he landed on long term injury. Since their defense needs an overhaul who knows if they trade prospects...i just mentioned it because it was a 7ir
that had some merit to it. Bergevin had been inquiring about Beaudin for a while and reportedly Bowman liked or someone suggested he like Pidlunski.
This is merely one of many many players and transactions that sounnaroynd in GM minds. They always play a what if scenario and may go back to inquire about players whose name they previously discussed in a feeling out process. Usually those do not lead to trades, but you do have the trade deadline salary cap and planning for expansion all of which they are acutely aware needs careful navigation. Who knows if they trade prospects for other prospects. |

I am not trying to be a jerk here but honestly dude, this is pretty illegible and I don't believe you answered my question as to which player you were referring to in your original comment. |

After reading some of the posts from today, I’ve come to the conclusion that we need a hockey game to watch. Next we will be acquiring Belfour to play net after we trade Lehner and Crow. |

Does his bail count against the salary cap?

If this year’s Hawks had last year’s goaltending would our record be worse.
Or putting it another way. Is the roster no better, just the goaltending. |

Rocky can add a supply of Jamison’s to his contract, so low cap hit. |

Trump better fits the "not afraid of the environment " part. Both fit the first part. |

There is an exciting Flyers/Red Wing tilt being shown on both the national NBCSN and local NBCSN broadcast.
Or you can partake in the USWNST dismantling the females from Costa Rico. The American women look like amazons next to the Costa Rican women. |

Both are possible to be true given the fact other teams may have improve their rosters, too.
The better question, to me anyway, is will this goaltending tandem cost the Hawks a possible franchise type draft choice? |

No
And definitely not. It’s a pointless endeavor watching women’s sports, boring AF. |

Ryan Poehling, LW/C,:age 22, #25 overall 2017 by Montreal Canadiens from St Cloud State
Quite a debut the shootout winner plus hat trick vs Toronto last game of last season
Poehling had five goals in the WJC 2019
"He makes up for lack of foot speed with great hockey sense and strong work ethic; controls puck well" Hockey Futures reported.
Also this: "plays a sound game positionally, coming back in his own end and has a knack for creating turnovers on the back check" from elite prospects.
I am not reporting a current rumor involving him. His name was mentioned as best I recall on this board as a player Bowman either liked or might be interested in. Montreal entered the season with a top young center looking to break out [Drouin] and two highly touted centers graduating to pro hockey [Poehling and Suzuki]. Montreal had a center we all like, too, in Daneault. Plus they have the Finn Kotkaniemi struggling to put up points.
The Canadiens have lacked size at center for years. They lack star power. At one time Paciorety looked to be their top gun but he wound up going to Vegas after expressing unhappiness with his contract
. The Canadiens are trying to rebuild their defense and center positions.
Thr #3 overall, kotkaniemi, sent to AHL reportedly after late to a practice. |
