After this type of performance there simply MUST be dramatic improvement in the 2nd period. If not then this is just who we are.

You can’t possibly be THIS bad for one period and not show fight and effort to improve if you’re any kind of playoff contender.

So let’s see what happens.

- SimpleJack

This is the same team that has played all year. It’s called being inconsistent (which they have been all year). It should not be a surprise to see this anymore. It’s infuriating, but it is who they are.

Toronto watching Lehner play goalie? I imagine Stan's phone has got to be ringing off the hook for him.
- BetweenTheDots

You think Hawks, Inc. will sell? And run the risk of negative publicity? No chance. They will hold serve or "buy" then blame "injuries" when they fall short.

Sell anything you can. The more picks they have the better to the chance to find some talent.
- Elbows15

Makes sense.....keep selling any talent you have every year....brilliant!

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain

With all due respect, they’re playing one of the 4-5 best teams in the league. The Bruins are completely taking away time and space. As soon as a Hawk touches the puck, they’ve got a white sweater in their face

It sort of looks like how the Hawks smothered opponents during the glory years.

I expected a win last night, against an inferior team.
Anything greater than a regulation loss tonight is remarkable.

Not buying it, effort is a desire not a system, compete level isn't at the same level by every player and that's the biggest issue this team has

So it's better to lose FAs at the end of the year on an expiring contract, when you can barely make the playoffs, makes no sense to me

Not pro or anti JC, but I’m not seeing as many odd man breaks against us the last month or so, how many 2 on 1’s that first period? If any I missed it. We are a bubble team playing a real good team, and there’s no score, and we are and have been playing more sound defense. How about pointing out sa few good things for a change.

I’m so (frank)ing sick of Alex DeBrincat

Sick of lack of skating ability

His horrible passing

His inability to control or hold on to the puck

His ice cold shooting

Please for the love of god can we trade this useless pile of trash before he loses whatever value he has left...

Throw Strome in there with him. They belong with each other. Equally useless.

- SimpleJack

Agreed.....ever since ADB got his contract he's been awful. Strome is having a terrible year as well. The 2 bosom buddies have stunk up the joint all year. Maybe too much buddy buddy off the ice ?? If they are core pieces going forward, that's a bad sign.

Bruins either really good at not letting passes get through or Hawks just really really bad at it. 1 out 4 passes maybe aren't obstructed by a stick or skate

I think most fans look at the coaching to improve the offence and power play but I think good coaching improves the defensive side of the game. The team penalty killing is also the best it’s been in a few years

If that is happening - and it is - shouldn’t they be positioning themselves for shorter, quicker passes?

Or perhaps ADB is having a belated sophomore jinx and Strome has been injured this tear? Let’s give both a year or two before we write them off.

Glad for the AdB goal - but shouldn’t that have been a high stick on Chara for the hit on Dach’s head?

Last I checked, still gotta dress 20 guys....may want to hang onto best 20 ya have, or just keep trading everyone you can for draft picks.....which obviously makes no sense to me

Strome was ok after the first 20 games and was looking really good before he got injured. He was averaging .75 PPG so I'm not sure how that constitutes a terrible year.

Boqvist missed a shift? Looked like he hurt his arm on the check that resulted in the Blackhawk PP.

I guess we disagree, if someone offers me a prospect or 1st round draft pick or both that i believe will help the young Blackhawk team i make the deal instead of getting nothing for the soon to be free agent
