If Hawks sign Lehner and Crow goes on open market you could be right. If Lehner leaves I do not see Bowman squeezing Crow that hard. Also how Crow finishes this year could be important to his next contract. - -Doh-
My thinking is $4M and up is a 60+ game goalie contrary to Crow's pride and opinion I doubt any GM including Stan see's him as that? |

Totally agree. I am not sure there is a sure thing for WC spots this year. It is pretty wide open. That was just my opinion based on overall talent, goaltending, health, schedule, and possible moves before TDL. I liked Vegas a lot more before the coaching change. - -Doh-
After Blues whole thing is a crap shoot if somebody has an injury it could kill them nobody has any leeway in the West. |

I will start by saying I'm a BIG Big Buff fan...but just to be clear we're good with trading for a 34 defensemen coming off of ankle surgery when the game is all about speed now and he's admitted that he hasn't even started skating yet? But we're not okay with adding a 28 year old winger coming off a career year with past injury concerns? Just trying to make sure I understand what we're okay with...lol
If he's a FA I guess I wouldn't mind bringing him back on the cheap. I wouldn't play him at defense though. I'd tell him he's going back to forward and we're parking his big a$$ in front of the net on every PP and collect all those garbage goals like he used to lol - Savetheembers33
Are you quoting someone? Or having a conversation with yourself? Either way, what 28 year old winger with concussion problems are you talking about? |

just no hunting with rifles, but you can hunt with shotguns (duck), and bow and arrow I think. |

My son hunts in Southern Illinois for years for deer with his buddies using rifles. Illinois needs the money. |

This was interesting: a poll of NHL agents in which they asked who the most reasonable GMs are in negotiations. Our StanBo did not get ONE vote. Based on how much of this board feels about his handing out term, dollars, and NMCs like candy, I thought he'd have gotten at least one.

NOTE: he didn't get a vote for "unreasonable" either - pdx2ord
The agents probably didn’t want to highlight how reasonable he is....they know a golden goose when they see one.

Toronto need a goalie, Anderson got hurt last night, who knows how serious, and with unreliable backup the Leafs need a solid backup. The Leafs have some decent prospects and draft picks. |

They're going through a rebuild right now so while it make some sense I'd think a return to the Hawks (pushing for a Playoff spot) makes more sense than Minny. Now if he doesn't sign til the Offseason to give himself plenty of time to rehab and possibly get a better deal than that could be possible. |

I stand corrected...I know there are some restrictions to hunting in Illinois...was it that it can only be done on private property or something...maybe that is what I am thinking of. |

Replying to the general conversation about adding Buff to the fold.
Was referring to Shaw. |

I saw that as well and our goalies was the first thing that came to mind. If we are not signing Lehner, than it would be a waste to keep him and not get anything for him, same with Crow. We are in a window of adding prospects, young players, and draft picks, and that is our window. If we get in the dance, great, playoff experience for the young ones, but Stan needs to assemble his team for the next few years, not this year. |

We would need to take back some salary, Toronto has only $3 mil. in cap space, I don't know if either Crow or Lehner's pro rata cap hit is above that.

For the right return we can take on salary for this year. |

Were people here really ok with Shaw coming back, and if so.... why? I was not a fan of that move at all at the time. It just seemed like too much of a "get the band back together" move. |
