Hmm;
2019
Jack Hughes - GP 43, G 6, A 11, Pts 17, +/- -15
Kappo Kakko - GP 46, G 7, A 9, Pts. 16, +/- -18
Kirby Dach - GP 46, G 7, A 8, Pts. 15, +/- -1
2018
Rasmus Dahlin - GP 44, G 3, A 27, Pts 30, +/- -2
Andrei Svechnikov - GP 51, G 19, A 26, Pts 45, +/- +12
Jesper Kotkaniemi - GP 36, G 6, A 2, Pts 8, +/- -11
Think the Hawks might have made a pretty good pick. Big will grow into his body. Shows he belongs and I like the fact that he is works hard out on the ice, and has improved the more he plays. - vabeachbear
If Dach stays on Kane’s line, his numbers will go up. |

Rod McKuen and Jacques Brel - a combination from Hell. - StLBravesFan
Knew of McKuen acting but had no idea about the singing. Now I have to dig up some Brel on You tube to see just how horrifying it is/was.
Liked on SCTV when Dave Thomas portrayed the actor/Renaissance Man Richard Harris and sang “MacArthur Park” on Mel’s Rockpile. |

And you forgot Special K.
Dach and Boqvist are the only untouchables. Everyone else is up for sale. Some would require a huge overpay like Saad and Murphy. Some can't won't be moved like Kane, Toews and Keith. Crow and Lehner both should be available on the open market.
No one wants guys like Kampf, Highmore and Carpenter. Or at least what I have read.
Dinky isn't going anywhere and Strome I just can't figure out if he being moved or not.
TRADE EM ALL.

Hello, Gabe. I have noticed that it takes the collective board 30 games to turn positive, and a shift to get negative. - mohel
That's about right. More often than not, Gus or Nylander leading the way. Still am in a quandary over Nylander. I think they're going to run out the schedule with him. Cannot determine at this point, if it's the right thing to do.

Google "Dave Barry's Worst Songs of All Time". MacArthur Park deservedly made this list along with other classics.
As I recall, "Horse With No Name" and "I Am, I Said" also made the cut.
Funny stuff. |

Special K had one huge mistake last night, however he has been playing some decent hockey the last ten games or so. He has 130 games in the show and seems to be trending up, for the cap hit he’s okay in my book as a #6. When Gus was pressured last night, he threw one in front of the net at Saad’s skates, when Saad got back to the bench, he leaned over and said something to whoever was next to him, I read his lips, he said something like “what the xxxx was he doing?” |

since the hawks wild 7-5 loss to the nucks on Jan 2 they are 7-3 as ogie pointed out.
they have allowed 2 or less in 8 of those 10, and score two or more regulation in 9 of those 10
defensively this team has turned it around, goaltending remains excellent, pk has been huge (smith and carpenter and murphy have been really good)
the big elephant on the ice is what stanbow does with the crow/lehner |

8-1 on the road
My belief is trades, give away today assets for the promise of tomorrow, will be made unless the Hawks win the next 8 out of 9 games.

I lobbied hard for Chicago to pick Dach. I also said he wouldn't be ready this season. I'm not sure why teams even bother to have good prospects almost learn on the fly in the NHL.
Just look at Draisital or Scheif. They got a few games and went back and now they are studs.
His 15 points haven't done much for the team.

Yeah, and I've seen 20 game stretches where Saad couldn't receive a clean pass from anyone, anywhere. Granted he's been hot lately, and hope he continues. But, I don't think he's in a position to criticize anyone. And, I agree it was a horrendous pass attempt.

Saad is a good player, if he had good hands he’d be a great player, there’s no denying that is a deficiency in his overall abilities. |

Hmmm, I'm thinking McDavid being drafted the following year helped Draisital more than anything else
Dach isn't lighting it up but he's a player who helps his team win games

Honestly as for whom to trade or retain - you have the right call for the most part
I feel everyone should be in agreement since it should be obvious, however, to try to keep Lehner here.
Lehner is a top younger goaltender and one less position to have a crying need to fill in the rebuild on the fly. As everyone knows the biggest obstacle should be the dollars he will agree to play for in Chicago.
Bowman needs to try to convince Lehner to want to play in this central market for an up and coming team. I would even agree to a slight dollar overpay but I suggest guaranteed money for 4-5 years and a player and team opt out after that. So Lehner could be given for example a six year contract with said provision.
This appears fair; if this seems unfair I know the board will sound off
I willing to allow even a Laakinen/Delia rotation as back up next season. We will learn if one develops enough to demand or seek a trade. Raanta is a past example of how this could turn out.
And we do have a pretty good prospect in Gravel -;better than Delia or Laakinen were at the same age.
Special K needs to play regularly and hopefully by mid point of next season we feel comfortable to label just how valuable he would become. I do not suspect he will become bad Special K again. But just how much might his performance be up and down and does he show good signs of becoming a reliable steady dman.
I love his hockey talent skill set package and wonder ultimately if he might be a better choice on a bottom pair than Matte, Gilbert and Carlsson. I hope he establishes himself also as solid in the mental and preparation areas so that next season by trading deadline we can ascertain if Carlsson, Beaudin and Kyrs get a trial. |

It's like saying you aren't going to spend $20m on a QB or $15m on a closer. You have to unless you are lucky and look to save somewhere else. |

I AM convinced - they made a pretty good pick.
But a pick that still needs to prove he can score like a top-3 pick should in The Show.
Hughes (#1) and Kakko (#2) need to prove the same, as does Kotkaniemi (now skating in the AHL’s Laval) from last year’s class.
Until they do, they’re “just” high-level prospects. - StLBravesFan
He could probably have scored more this year if he let the defense slide. I think he's been great nobody's bi-ch so far.
