Not many reasons to watch the games from now on untill next season.

Might as well speculate about the TDL, the draft and this coming summer.

Ha

Not really part of his game but can still be useful in a bottom pairing role, he'll only get better

People were complaining about Gorges not producing enough and he was getting 15-20 points/season (or on pace for).

Fleury played what, 40 games in the NHL? He's young.

Go (frank) your gf and calm down.

She won't let me

Also, it has nothing to do with that. I don't insist on defensemen producing a lot of points, but I do think it's hypocritical that fans call out players like Gorges, Benn, Alzner for not providing offense yet hail Fleury as a savior when he projects to be that kind of player. Or how a lot of people are open to trading Mete like he isn't only 5 months older than Fleury and getting more points.

If it is time to accept losing, then it is time for the kids to be playing in the show, and players such as Weise not playing.

Mete has close to 200 NHL games under his belt, Fleury has 40.
imo Fleury will be a Habs for a long time. Mete I'm not sure. he needs to step it up offensively since he is not as physical as Fleury.
no one is asking a defensive dman (Benn Alzner...) to produce offensively. but Mete is not a defensive dman.

Even in his first season Mete managed to get more points. He also blocks more shots, and his possession metrics are and always have been superior despite more dzone starts. The only advantage Fleury has is physicality.

(frank) off with your fancy stats.
I wouldn't be suprised to see Fleury have more points than Mete over the next few years. he has shown a few moves. don't forget that Mete always played top pair (except the past few months) and a lot more minutes, compared to Fleury who has always played 3rd pair.

for Mete, it will depend if MB extends Scandella or not. because if they do sign Scandella, then you have Chiarot, Scandella, Mette.... and maybe Romanov. where do you play Mete then?

Why would they re-sign Scandella?
