I’m not sure if JC was the right hire or not, but with this roster and the injuries this year, not sure the Hawks would have a better record with Q or any other coach.

That is a good way to put it, it just kills me that they are going to probably wind up trading Chris Bryant rather than just going for it. Most of the core built to win now, What kills me is the rickets family is ultra rich, don’t know if you have been or live in the Chicago area up around Wrigley Field lately but it has vastly changed in the last 10 years. So this guy cannot cry broke because he owns just about everything around there. He should have the Steinbrenner‘s family mentality. Repeating I am a Cubs fan but I hope the White Sox win their division this year. And they didn’t pull the bullpoop with Luis Robert Like the Cubs did with Chris Bryant his rookie year.

Roberts signed a 6 year $50m contract to give up his arbitration years he's on the big team.

Other than the fact their payroll is right at or above the luxury tax threshold, yes.

Their off-season has been held hostage by the arbitration decision regarding Bryant.

- Elbows15

If the Cubs lose it will stand the CBA on its head and it will be up to the player when they are ready for the majors. This should have been decided in 30 seconds which I'm sure has the Cubs nervous now.

I think where I am with it is I just wish that Jeremy Colliton had 2 to 3 years in Rockford instead of being pushed right in. Repeating what I said earlier I just hope it don’t ruin him.
Maybe some of the older guys are starting to warm up to him now, but you could tell by body language early on if you watch on the bench closely ,it’s like most of them have tuned him out.

February will be an interesting month for us. Eleven of 14 games on the road. Our performance on the road will determine whether we are buyers or sellers at the TDL.

Now that the Hawks have come close to a playoff spot they'll revert back to the team they really are. In those 14 games they'll go 3-7-4.

This is a good point, I can’t remember the last time the Blackhawks had so many players out at the same time.

Even though their home and away records are pretty even, it always looks to me like they have a little more jump on the road. Considering their recent upward trend, I'm going to optimistically guess that they go 8-3-3 in that stretch.

The Blues have put Brouwer on waivers.... do Stan, claim him! The Hawks need more grit and truculence.

9 of those 11 are against their direct competition for a WC spot.

My opinion may not be favorable but I'm going to say it.

You do not need an elite goal tender to win a stanley cup. As someone said previously, you need a hot goaltender. That could be Crawford, Delia, Scott Foster, Niemi, Huet, whoever.

Why in the world are we going to lock up 7 or 8 million in goaltending next year when we have far greater deficiencies.

Sure, Lehner would be a great leader and elite goaltender but that is not our biggest hole.

I WANT him on this team, but we don't NEED him.

I think this money can be used more wisely.

- catrisc

The amount of talent on the 2010 team was pretty unmatched. It would be very difficult to have that much talent on one team again.

Still have to have a very good person between the pipes if they're trying to win.

Could claim him, he represents a cheap contract for balance of seasn. He has to be playing for a job since he is at the end of a rope. St Louis has some kids who are improving and beginning to emerge and they are depth forwards eh took Brouwer's job.

If Stan waits then some team will take Brouwer on the cheap and Stan looses a serviceable player. Which would be short sided analysis by Stan. The reason why is that the Blackhawks are not going to win enough to make the playoffs. Try will be entertaining and hoover around .500 as long as their gioaltenders remain healthy and play outstanding.

So Rocky keeps more fans in the stands but Bowman gets a worse draft position. And if he doesn't trade Gus, Saad and Crawford by the trade deadline, then later he will get either nothing or peanuts for them. And when the draft comes they will not be a lottery team. Which means no great prospect whom could become a core piece.

Let's watch and see how smart Stan is..or maybe how much pressure to win and make playoffs.

The team's we need to beat for a playoff spot are better on paper and obviously have a poin advantage currently in the standings. I imagine they pony up more for a piece to help them in their playoff aspiration. Stan will probably try to win with what he has, trading no prime prospects, only to fall short in playoff chase and to receive a middle of round one draft pick.

Also it seems foolish to expect much from Shaw and Seabrook is nearly as bad a choice to contribute. Shaw probably retires or soon retires after one more try.

Seabrook is still a weak skater, likely still too slow to read and react in a quick pace NHL. But Seabs will be afforded the opportunity because he is under contract.

I had an idea to trade him to Seattle but this would be a difficult trade to complete. Not only would Seabs have to agree, but should a prearranged promptly sent back .....we probably have to pay more - a greater price tag - as opposed to losing a significant player in the expansion draft.

So trade whom you can while the.renumeration is descent. Loose a less significant player in the expansion draft.

Doubtful Stan does all that he could do since his mandate is probably to try to make playoffs. I would be happy if he resigns Lehner and I sort of expect him to trade no one before trade deadline

Although if Crawford agrees then he could be moved.

Delia is playing well, Laakinen had been playing well....and Stan ought to see what he has in Laakinen

Terrible news indeed.
Life is too short and death is inevitable so we are reminded by tragic news like this to be thankful grateful of everything we have.

We have freedom knowledge and opportunity in this great country. I am reminded of someone who told everyone how each family member had a quality directly linked to their deceased mother and how we can carry that memory and character forward in our lives. Well why not tell them that while still alive. Be thankful loving and grateful since it is the right approach.

kkkkooookkkkoooo kkkkoughs up the puck twice last night, leading to both yotes goals, kkkkosting us the game. he is almost as bad defensively as kkkkeith. yeah, he had a few good games, but the reason he has only played 130 nhl games is because he is at best a #8 defenseman - and only playing #6 for us because we have 2 out for the season. gilbert has 4x the talent this kkkkooookkkk does. when we bring up the kids, kkkkooookkkkoooo will be our #11 defenseman.
