I’d like to see them replace ADB with Kubalik on the power play. |

Is Kubilak hurt? - PatShart
He was in that last shift. Lots of 88 double shifting. That seems to be JC’s failsafe strategy. |

You and Jack - incredible.
They’ve won (assuming this loss) 12 of 18, coming off of a five game winning streak, AND played the right way - according to the stats (given up fewer shots, chances, and goals) and the eyes.
And Colliton should get credit for at least part of it.
And some here (not excluding you) are one toke over the ledge.
Bad game, guys - 10 days to recoup, regenerate, and get back into it. I’m encourage by the play recently. - StLBravesFan

No shame in the loss
Lehner has done a lot of great things for us so one bad game is bound to happen. Brush it off.
The team is still playing very well. |

Don't think they played poorly tonight at all. Lehner had an uncharacteristic bad night in goal, but they go into the break and likely get Strome back on the other side.
Dach has 3 pts in 2 games after a prolonged drought and Caggiula and Saad have both provided scoring after being out for a stretch. If Dinky can get hot after the break, maybe they can go on another run. |

He’s earned it, that’s for sure. They need another look on the power play, they need to change something because what they’re doing ain’t working. Bottom line is that they got beat by the better team tonight. |

Well, not sure there was anything wrong with what Lehner had to say there. |
|
|
|
If Lehner played like he normally does the Hawks probably win the game - even with all the poor plays they made. He would normally stop 3 of the 4 Panther goals - the only one that was not a bad goal was the one deflected in off a skate.
Hopefully the uptick in Gustafsson's scoring lately help Stan trade him for something worthwhile. There were some good plays in the d-zone by him but also a couple bad plays where he was caught watching the play with that mouth agape face. He's slow to react when he's caught flatfooted. Enough already. |

Also known as Leddy Face. If someone comes to the Hawks and offers a first for the services of Gusto...take it Stanbo! |

Recovering from a bout with prostate cancer and I've heard him on radio promoting getting tested early. I heard him say he spends most of his winters in Key West but still follows the NHL closely.
Another note on that Eddie Shack era - back then so many of those players came out of small towns in Northern Ontario where they had 2 options - try to make pro hockey a career or spend 40 years working underground in the nickel and gold mines around Sudbury, Timmins, or Kirkland Lake.
Foster Hewitt the famous hockey broadcaster used to call Kirkland Lake ' the town that made the NHL'. (Population 7000). Richardie Duff, Ralph Backstrom, Mickey Redmond, the Plager Bros.and many more.
Also, as you no doubt know in the 1960's the Hawks and Leafs would often play back to back Saturday/Sunday nights. After the Saturday night game both teams would go down to Union Station and take the overnight train back to Chicago. Supposedly they were in separate cars and never spoke to each other. - RickJ
Great stuff. Really appreciate this history.

The stars were not aligned tonight for our goalie and the rest of the Hawks. At least the team did not tank when they were down by three. I am concerned about the play of Debrincat. He looks like he is never in the right position to shoot ...and when he does shoot his wrist shots are so much slower than last years lasers. The Cat's passes seem to be very sloppy . Maybe, DCat has bulked up to much during the offseason ( like Toews did 2 years ago) . Maybe , I am being to harsh but right now I consider him a candidate to be traded if the return is a 1st rounder. |
