That was two losses against two teams that just came off back to back and should have been tired.

Wpg looked like they just played 5 games back to back.

Not much fight in this team, no grit, bad D, not much else to say.

You would think you would start your backup once in a while since the starter is up and down like a well used toilet seat.

Well, what is the shakeup going to look like? Coach, Laine? Status quo?

I can’t see Wheeler being traded as then who becomes Center on the 2 Nd line? Nick Shore?

No, not much to like about that game. Jets don't win unless they play with 100% intensity, and Helle makes 40 saves. The 100% has not been there lately for whatever reason.

Liked the lines better with: Connor-Scheif-Laine and Ehlers-Wheeler-Roslovic than last night's set-up. Copp is a very important cog on this team but like him better with Lowry. And Lowry? Out? Put Harkins in there, maybe the opportunity be needs?

Don't see the coach going at this point, or Wheeler being traded. Think you will see it status quo until break, and then the Jets will decide if they're buyers or sellers at the deadline.

Right now it appears to be sellers. If sellers, Buff should be the first to go since he screwed us royally last fall. But will he be in shape to be wanted by any team? Maybe he will just retire and give us cap space?

The Jets defense is a mess. Morrisey is good, but he shouldn't be your #1 guy.

That's probably the biggest problem.

That may be true. However, any idea where you find that #1?

Can't slot Copp up any higher than 3rd line.....I could build a sidewalk with all of the cement in his hands. Having said that, his work effort is top notch, and there is always a spot for him in the lineup.

We really are only 1 player away from being a Cup contender.....unfortunately, McDavid is not available.

The best shakeup the Jets should do is fire Maurice and hirer Gallant. Maurice has lost this teams confidence and just switching centers isn't the answer.

Either in the draft or you trade a bunch of guys for one.

It's unfortunate, but what can you do? If I were in the Jets' position i'm no sure I'd be going all in to try and acquire more defense right now.

I forgot about Copp, but I am not sure he is a 2c. In any event, there are so so many holes to fill with this team. Ideally, I think there should be a legit 2c and Wheeler go back to the wing. Who are you trading for a legit 2 c or a legit #1 D? Someone is going to go from now till July 1.

Laine produces at .80 /game, Connor at .77, Ehelrs at .68, which one is going?

Also, if we can sell off a few assets like Buf (if he decides to come back), Perreault, Kuli, who else?

Copp, Lowry and Little should (could be) bottom 6 centres, need some NHL defenceman to fill out the roster, perhaps a #1? Find someone that can actually add some grit or board work as Scheifle can't be the only one that is digging in the corners.

The team is a hot mess and unless the goalie and God are on the same page, I don't anticipate anything better than what I predicted a few games ago.

42 33 7 Let's see how close I get to this prediction.

While we are at it, bring up Berdin and give him a game at home. Give him a taste and let it be known to the goalies here that they need to be more consistent.

So, I got to work this morning and realized I have many deadlines coming up and I am also overdue on a couple. My manager came to me and reminded me of getting my projects completed. I told her that I would one day and in the future when I hand them in, they are going to be awesome. She then asked me when in the future will they get done. I told her that I did not have a specific date or time and that she just needs to believe that they will get done. I told her to have faith. I also told her that I will not be providing any real answers to her questions and that in the interim, I will keep my colleagues entertained by telling them jokes.

My answers did not go over to well with her and now I am being told that I will have to work overtime until everything is caught up. I guess my workplace is very different than Chevy's, whereas he does not have to do anything but tell the fans and True North to keep the faith and he gets no repercussions for his actions.

Why are people so determined to limit what Copp can do?
16 points in 41 games with limited ice time, in a defensive role.
Has never had a shot in the top 6.
Has very strong underlying numbers, is defensively top tier, and has a history (in limited time) of chemistry with both Wheeler and Scheifele.

He creates chances, drives play, and betters everyone around him. Not everyone can be a sniper, and with our shooting talent, he doesn’t have to be. He’s a top 6 forward. He just is.

Copp has very limited offensive skills....just use the "eye test".
That doesn't make him a bad player, just not a # 2 center.

Noticed that a site (TSN?) said that DeAngelo might be available. Surprising - but if so - definite interest, right?

After the Kane fiasco I think Chevy may want to stay away from guys who are notorious bumholes.

Is the defense this teams biggest issue?
No doubt the defense isn't great but the Jets systems are failures no matter who's on defense.

They can't score, they need more goals.

These ideas I hear or read of trading Ehlers, Laine or Connor for a dman are just dumb, a team that has almost zero secondary scoring shouldn't trade one of their few players who do score for help on defense.

I dunno if it's been an issue with the Rangers, but he's been suspended for "Abuse of Officials" multiple times in junior, once in the NHL, and he was suspended by his own team in junior after he said some very derogatory things about one of his teammates in the locker room.

It's a systemic issue in that the defense has difficulty getting control of the puck and getting it to the forwards. Scoring suffers because scorers can't get the puck.
