Probably be in playoff spot if Lavy was the coach here all season.

One problem, he uses the same system JC tried installing here.

Don't tell anyone.....

Of course, Trotz said defensive systems are not that important.

Look at Tampa, they’ve been struggling with it all season. Now they’re coming around. Watch out!

That was so interesting to see. Now, they're on a big roll.

Biggest question is whether our vets would have dug in their heels and refused to play the new system if it had been Lavy trying to institute it in the beginning. I think they felt they had leverage over the young coach (and the FO proved them right).

Kane needs someone opposite him to whom he can get the puck in position to score. Like Panarin - like AdB.

If - if - Nylander can perform there....

McDavid crossing over on a Toronto defender for a goal - as good as Tim Hardaway used to do to break an opposing guard’s legs.

Here's hoping, especially since the legend of the Kane/DBC chemistry was overstated

The firing of Joel Quenneville and Craig Berube's Stanley Cup with the Blues have opened the floodgates for in-season coaching changes. After zero in 2017-18, there have been 13 in the last 14 months. Nearly half the NHL — 15 teams — have changed coaches in that span. Yikes!

Curious how many have ended up in recycling of the old guard coaches and how many have brought in new blood.

Rumors out there that Nashville is going after Babcock.

With this talk concerning whether the Hawks should speed up their rebuild in an effort to acquire Lafreniere, and debate on whether Cozens or Dach was the better pick......

The Sabres and Hawks should get a deal done. All you would have to do is trade Kane to Buffalo in exchange for Risto or Dahlin, Cozens, and the class act Okposo.

Be a great story for the NHL if Kane went back home to Buffalo and helped the Sabres win their first Cup!

Then, Hawks after they tank; could acquire the first pick in the draft, and have the funds to go out and get Hall in free agency.

Fans thanking Kane on the way out for having help the Hawks win multiple Cups.

Win, win!

Risto blows. Sabres would be really stupid to trade a 19 yr old for a 31 yr old. Okposo is the Sabres cross to bear. Kane is better than Hall now and will still be better than Hall is 4 years. More durable, too.

Kane puts up points no matter who is next to him. He doesn't need anyone. Be nice to have but Kane is the last player I worry about being productive.

Risto’s game has improved this year under Kruger. Has the grit Hawks fans are looking for with the offensive talent to produce 40 plus points. Actually most Sabres fans would hate to see him go. I agree Kane is better than Hall and will be for the next years. Sabres fans are getting impatient and would forget about Dahlin if it meant Kane and Eichel leading the Sabres to a Cup. I’d take Kane’s next 5 years into his mid thirties over the Dahlin’s next 5.

Question is though would Hawk fans be able to part with Kane if it meant getting a generational D-man and a top prospect like Cozens, Toews could groom?

Likely no other D-man than those two on the Sabres could get a move like this done.

Kane is a great player but he doesn’t fit into Chicago’s current or future plans. By the time the hawks are ready to contend, 4 to 6 years, Kane will no longer be a top contributor.

Is a team, like buffalo willing to overpay, ie: Dahlin, plus, plus? If so I think the hawks have to listen and seriously consider making the move. That said a move like this can only occur if Kane agrees, with no pressure, to waive his NTC for any move. It’s a huge risk in many ways. The return proves not to benefit Chicago, the integrity of team can be damaged by moving one of the faces of the franchise and of course the short term damage. Man I’m glad I flip burgers for a living and don’t have to make these types of decisions.
