Went to the game with my sister and her husband Die hard Rangers fans.... who are out from the city for the holidays and went on the roadie with the blueshirts...

They say the team just needs more consistency up and down the lineup.. Some nice pieces but have these lapses that are maddening...

Kinda a weird game.. The Ducks Shat the bed in the 1st 5 minutes before getting their act together...
That 3rd goal given up by JG was Horrid... but he was straight nails in the OT and shootout..

Gonna be interesting next Sunday when they play again Ducks will be on the B2B..

The difference in goalie play is pretty clear right now. Georgi is up, in position, and waiting for the puck. Hank is guessing - moving before it’s on its way. It’s getting harder to watch.

I still have trouble with the Rangers defensive system. I blame DQ for that. If it’s Because of Ruff then I still blame DQ , be a head coach and get rid of him. If the rangers are tell DQ to keep him then there’s a bigger problem with the management. I don’t understand that the way they play team d they won’t win anything and the fans seem to be the only ones that see it. I do believe they have the offence to compete and I think for the most part have the d-men to play a system that cuts down on shots on goal and chances.
As for the season , so far I’m pleasantly surprised that they are in the mix most games and are pretty fun to watch. If you’re a ranger fan and don’t like watching AP then you just don’t really like the Rangers. He is so fun to watch and makes teammates better, great signing!!!

I think we all do not like the Rangers system for defense. I'm not going to pretend that Ruff is some defensive wizard despite a mountain of evidence that he has been a sub par defensive coach not only with us, but in Dallas as well. I will also point out though that we really don't have the players yet to be really great on D. Fox, Lindgren, and Hajek are all rookies. As great as ADA has been, his career experience in games sums up to about 2 NHL seasons. I don't have to say anything about Staal and even when he played really well, Skjei shouldn't sniff a top NHL pairing.

I don't think it would be unusual and I bet that management wants Quinn to keep Ruff. You have to remember that DQ is a 2nd year NHL coach. I'm sure year 1 they wanted him around just to teach him the ropes and this year he was kept around. The only hope is that after the season, maybe DQ is allowed to bring in who he wants. I'd criticize Ranger management for dictating he keep Ruff or not finding some other veteran coach if they wanted an experienced guy on the staff, but I just think this is pretty normal for the league. Whether it should be is another question.

They have to take so many defensmen per the rules, you never know they might be forced to take him. If we trade Georgi, there really might not be a ton of attractive options from our team.

My real fear is that they take someone like Howden who we might be forced to expose and he blossoms like Willy K did.

we gotta lose somebody, what I would hope is that they dont make any additional deals to save somebody, just bit the bullet on losing one player and move on

That has always been Gorton's stance when he is asked about it. "we are only going to lose one good player".

Rangers will have 3 games in 4 nights during that stretch

we will see Shesty get one of those NYR games

You really think so? That might be cool.
I'm thinking that we might be getting too caught up in our expectations. Yes, Shesty has been really good for the Pack so far, but he's actually only played in 17 games. That makes me think that maybe the idea he is getting antsy down there might only be in our heads. Obviously, he wants to be in NY, but 17 starts is next to nothing.
I could be wrong, but this just occurred to me over the weekend.

Vitali Kravtsov is expected to play his 1st game back in the #NYR organization tomorrow with the #HWP as the team is in Charlotte to play a back to back against the Checkers. Kravtsov joined the team in Lehigh Valley and will practice with the team prior to Tuesday's game.

Start the Kovy to Rangers sumor. Remember when people wanted us to sign this guy?

He might be lucky to make much above the league minimum if another team signs him.

He got paid by LA either way for minimal play. He is a +35 contract so buyouts do nothing for their cap space.

If he's playing well and winning, that might be enough to keep him here for a while. So this is his first season in the US, he can't expect to be playing in the NHL right away. He has to see the situation with Hank not going anywhere and Georgie playing well knowing he might get a shot next season or in case of injury.
I'd love to hear the conversation after Kravs came crawling back with his tail between his legs.
